Let's get ready to ruuuuumble
I've had quite a few TrackBack pings this evening, so I thought "what the hey" and took the first round of photos submitted in the Boobie-Thon live about 45 minutes early. Don't forget...we also have a passworded pay-per-boobie site (with photos) already set up for donors of $50.00 or more! So what you see isn't all of what you (might) get.

If you've been putting off submitting your photo, now's the time to quit procrastinating. Just send them to: boobiethon@tampatantrum.com

It's like this, and like that, and like this, and uh...
Guess someone forgot to tell them that Elvis has left the building. Whoops.

By the way, getting this blog back on topic, I've been asked just what kind of "rack shots" are acceptable for this year's Boobie-Thon... Basically, anything goes. Only covered boobies (hands, props, food items, bras, etc.) will go on the main photos page. But just like last year, there will be a separate, passworded "pay-per-boobie" page for bare-breasts -- available to donors of $50.00 or more. And yes, we already have bare-breast photos submitted. Also, guys are more than welcome to submit their racks as well. We had 'em last year, and we'll gladly take 'em this year. E-mail photos here. The first batch of pics goes live on 10/1! Don't be tardy.

UPDATE: It has been suggested that females not use "man hands" to cover up their naughty bits. Just a suggestion...use it as you will...

UPDATE 2: Don't forget...you can get "creative" with your photo entries... Last year we had wet t-shirt style pics, creative use of food products, pretty things to unwrap, and even a little festivity. Use your imaginations!

Keep rollin', rollin', rollin'...
I was reminded that the Boobie-Thon needed RSS feeds, so they have been added. More details at the main site.

Also, the site will be pinging weblogs.com and Blogrolling.com when it updates, so please feel free to Blogroll it.

I go out walkin'...
[Making Strides Against Breast Cancer] Sphinxy and Ericalynn are both participating in the Philadelphia Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. They are accepting donations through October 9th. Please help them out if you can.

And in somewhat related news, the Boobie-Thon now has six button and mini-banner images you can use to link to this year's drive. You can find them at the official site. This year's event officially kicks off on this Wednesday, October 1st -- and will run through Saturday, October 11th. We already have quite a few photo submissions ready to debut on 10/1. If you'd like to get yours in ASAP, just e-mail them here.

And the winner is...
This weekend, I had a panel of ten "judges" help select the blogger cause / charity for the first $359 raised (assuming, of course, we raise that much) in this year's Boobie-Thon. It should be noted that I purposely refrained from voting myself.

Many thanks to the following ten eleven individuals for all their help:

  1. Michele - asmallvictory.net
  2. Joelle - tenth-muse.com
  3. Solonor - solonor.com
  4. Zuly - zulyzu.com
  5. Jenni - bloggiebroad.com
  6. KB - buccho.com
  7. Kristine - kadyellebee.com
  8. Nicole - thegofish.com
  9. Mikey - electricbugaloo.com
  10. Lewis - orangehairedboy.com

  11. Tie-break vote: Chris - chris.pirillo.com

We actually ended up with a tie-vote, so Chris Pirillo stepped up to the plate and broke it. And the winner is.....the "Run For Their Lives - PAWS Chicago 8K" submitted by Veronika!

Thanks again to everyone who submitted their charities, and to everyone who helped select them. The complete list of blogger causes and charities submitted is here, so make sure to check out everyone's site!

As always, if you have any questions, just e-mail me. And if you're ready to submit a photo for this year's event (we launch on 10/1), those are now being accepted as well. Stay tuned here for more updates... -Robyn

  4. Run For Their Lives - PAWS Chicago 8K
  5. Philadelphia Breast Cancer Walk

Confirmations...cha cha cha
I've extended the blogger charity applications deadline until this Saturday, September 20th. So far Solonor and Zuly have three final confirmations vying for the $359 purse. If you would like your cause or charity officially considered -- or know of someone that would -- please contact one of us ASAP! Here are the three confirmed thus far, soon up for vote:

  1. helpkat.com
  2. Operation Santa Claus 2003
  3. National Brain Tumor Foundation
Just over two weeks to go until the Boobie-Thon kicks off on 10/1!

Gutsiest move I ever saw, man...
Phew. Hats-off to a Crimson Tide squad that literally gave us all we could handle! I'm officially back to being one of your biggest fans again...

"That team is the most underrated in the country," Sooners co-defensive coordinator Mike Stoops said about Alabama on the field after the game. "And what an environment to play in."

New Oklahoma Quarters to be Recalled!
If any of you are collecting the new state quarters, you may have to wait a while for the Oklahoma ones. The United States Treasury Department has announced they are recalling the new Oklahoma quarters. "We are recalling all of the new Oklahoma quarters that were recently issued," Treasury Undersecretary Russell Shackelford said in a press conference Monday.

"This comes in the wake of numerous reports to this agency that the quarters will not work in parking meters, toll booths, vending machines, pay phones, or other coin-operated devices." "We believe the problem lies in a design flaw," said Shackelford.

The winning design for the Oklahoma State quarter was submitted by an OSU graduate student named William Doutrieux. "Apparently, the duct tape holding the two dimes and nickel together keeps jamming the coin-operated devices."

Roll...pride!

[crimson pride]

Tomorrow OU takes on Bama in a back-to-back matchup. OU came from behind to defeat Bama 37-27 at home last year. This year -- it's personal. The game is at Bama and they have a lot to prove after last season's loss and the off-season they've had. Both teams are fresh off their first win of the season.

I have nothing but a great deal of respect for the Tide. They've always been one of my favorite teams other than my own to watch, and their pigskin history and tradition runs just as deep as my own school's -- not to mention, they wear the right colors. If we have to lose a game this year, there's no dishonor in walking out of Bryant-Denny Stadium without a "W". Only time will tell... Bring it on. And Boomer Sooner!

UPDATE: OU is the first number one opponent to play at Bryant-Denny.

The gift that keeps on giving
Attention: if you have requested that your charity be considered for the $359 purse for this year's Boobie-Thon -- you must confirm to either Solonor or Zuly by June (whoops!) September 20th that you still want to be considered. Only confirmed charities will be voted on. Merely leaving a comment here in the past will not suffice. You have to reply to their e-mails with official confirmation of your interest. If you have any questions please e-mail me.

Fock Me Amadeus
File this under, "Yep. That'll do it Pokes!" From FARK, dated 02/03:

[OSU] Student Government Association senators Derek Davies and Paul Goeringer...are co-authors of an SGA (Student Government Association) recommendation that proposes to change the name of Oklahoma State University to The Oklahoma State University...

...Davies, an agricultural economics junior, said, "Well, we were all sitting around trying to think of ways to make OSU more prestigious and help us compete nationally better. We then looked at the examples of Ohio State and Penn State with their names while we were at an agricultural conference and thought that we could do that at OSU in order to put us more in the national light."
[link]
That's almost as brilliant as just renaming their stadium to Boone Pickens Stadium.

Of course, that would be even more amusing if OU hadn't renamed theirs "The Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium". Rock the Fock!

Open keyboard drawer. Insert forehead. Slam. Repeat.
Well, some of these aren't the quality I've been used to in the past, but I have updated the 2002-03 mailbag at "Please Puff Daddy Ruin This Song, Too" (starting here).

        A select few quotes include:

all yall mutha fuckas need to get a fucking life and stop hatin on my man the system is designed to bring the black succesful man down and thats what yall TRYIN to do but i aint gonna let it happen go fuck yourselfs [link]

My name is Kimberly ****** and I am from New Jersey. I am 13 years of age with a voice of Mariah Carey. I am not trying to brag or seem conceeded about myself either. I just wanted to let all of you know that I am young and I am looking to do and make something of my talent. I have a God's gift and I am not going to sit around and wait for it to be taken away. And just like P. Diddy, I take my talent seriously... [link]

Now keep in mind while going through the mailbag (good for hours and hours of free entertainment) that I basically haven't touched the site since 1998. At all. It has been updated exactly once (when Puffy changed his name to P. Diddy) since then, other than to add to the mailbag 2-3 times a year. But still the hate mail pours in... Hey, at least it's nice to be playah-hated on for another site of mine for a change.

Duck and cover

[tropical storm]

That infinite sadness Floridians feel right now is not caused by Robert Smith, but rather by Tropical Depression 12. It's expected to turn into Tropical Storm Henri very soon and come ashore just north of Tampa Bay. Why can't we ever get hit by something not so wussy sounding -- like Tropical Storm Butch?

Twelve years ago, I entered the University of Oklahoma. Twelve years. Since then three classes of freshman have come and gone. Now I find out the new class of entering freshman were born in 1985. Bert and Ernie are old enough to be their two dads. And CNN has a new article on the cultural gap between students and professors. Food for thought
So I know that some of you either have worked -- or currently work -- as restaurant wait staff. So riddle me this... Do they actually train you to walk up and say, "How is everything?" after the customer has taken a big bite of food and can't answer back -- only nod? Happens every. Single. Time.

Why did Acerbia cross the road?
I finally figured out what all that random twitching and the feeling I just couldn't shake like I'd lost my car keys when I don't even drive was all about... Acerbia was gone.

But now it's back -- the house shines like the top of the Chrysler building -- and Todd is sporting a clean, close shave. Go "play chicken" and shake that not-so-fresh feeling as well, why don't you?

I can bitch, I can bitch 'cause I'm better than you
I wish when people achieved enlightenment and are so quick to pass along their experiences and what got them there -- basically implying that you haven't made better of yourself during the time they've known you* and are therefore stuck down on a lower plane of existence than they are -- in all their smugness they'd take just a wee second to think that over the course of history, the Library of Congress could be filled with self-help books many times over. And we're all just as equally messed up generations later, if not more so. No one is fucking enlightened, with the exception of maybe the Dalai Lama. Period. We're all just equally trying to get through the day screwing up as little people as possible right along with us. Yes, even Dr. Phil and The Oprah™ apply.

*This entry is not about me, but about what I've read about elsewhere.

UPDATE: And if you think publicly this entry is about you, it's probably not.

Step right up and get your ticket
You volunteered to help...and now that it's September 1st, I'm going to take you up on it. I need someone to help coordinate the bloggers eligible for the $359 "charity" purse in this year's Boobie-Thon. I already have eight potential causes linked here.

Your responsibility is to contact the appropriate individuals already linked to find out if they're still interested in having their cause considered -- and also wading through the comments left on this entry for others who might be interested in being considered as well.

So if you have -- or know of -- a "blogger cause" that would be eligible for the $359, please let me know about it (what it's for, who's doing it, when the $ is due) in this entry's comments. I'll be putting a panel of bloggers together mid-month to vote for the cause ultimately selected.

And if you have time to coordinate the list of potential charities this year, just drop me a line. Please, don't be a hero -- only volunteer if you have time to do the job! Thank you! (UPDATE: Solonor and Zuly have graciously stepped up to volunteer -- thanks!) -Robyn
