You volunteered to help...and now that it's September 1st, I'm going to take you up on it. I
Your responsibility is to contact the appropriate individuals already linked to find out if they're still interested in having their cause considered -- and also wading through the comments left on this entry for others who might be interested in being considered as well.
So if you have -- or know of -- a "blogger cause" that would be eligible for the $359, please let me know about it (what it's for, who's doing it, when the $ is due) in this entry's comments. I'll be putting a panel of bloggers together mid-month to vote for the cause ultimately selected.
And if you have time to coordinate the list of potential charities this year, just
Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...
I'm always collecting for the National Brain Tumor Foundation in honor of my friend Joe, who was diagnosed a few months ago, and has recently been diagnosed to pass away very very soon. I've been posting updates here and there on my blog about his situation.
His younger sister (his only sibling) has also been fighting Chron's Disease, so his family is in utter turmoil. I also accept donations for his family, not necessarily just monetary.¤ ¤ credit: courtney | 09.01.03 at 11:23 AM | link--this ¤ ¤
I've fwd'ed this to Solonor so you'll be on the list. Thanks for speaking up -- and I'm so terribly sorry for your friends and their family.¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 09.01.03 at 11:42 AM | link--this ¤ ¤
Oops, my bad. Could you correct my link to the foundation to http://www.braintumor.org ?¤ ¤ credit: courtney | 09.01.03 at 01:02 PM | link--this ¤ ¤

Cross posting this here so it won't be missed. -Robyn
Can I add a nomination? I blog for myself, but I raise money through my own sales and donations to the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. The foundation's purpose is "finding a cure for women's cancers and putting an end to violence against women". Two areas that are in need of help. Thanks for all you do Robin - S -

hey robyn - i realize that this is quite a bit off, time-wise, but i am going to be walking 60 miles in the breast cancer 3-day benefiting the susan g. komen breast cancer foundation august 13-15, 2004.
i've got to raise $2000 by next august, so any little bit would help :) if you, or anyone else, wants to donate, just go to http://www.kintera.org/faf/search/searchParticipants.asp?ievent=30112&lis=1. If you enter my name, Shawn Bryan, my donation page comes up.
I hope something good come out of all of this :) Thank you so much!¤ ¤ credit: webgrrlie | 09.03.03 at 03:29 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
