Does she look "perky" to you?
Well because of flash-card issues, I only managed to take one photo from last night's festivities. At least it was a good one. (Shown in photo: Stacy and Andrea.)

You miss too much these days if you stop to think

I ate too much. Drank too much. And he's the one that gets to come home and pass out. Figures. We had a wonderful time -- hopefully Stacy and Dan will be putting up photos that will embarrass me for all time soon.

Note to self: No matter how much the Goldschlager says so, Roosevelt was not, in fact, a founding father. Either of them. I'm pretty sure that OU wants my History degree back now...

How much would YOU pay?
This is quite possibly the worst nail-care product ever invented. It was such a beautiful concept -- no-spill gel polish remover in a pump. I am always knocking over my liquid polish remover with the screw-on cap. But I think it would be easier to remove polish with a pickax and chisel. Avoid it like the plague.

Duck and cover
Oh dear lord...hurricane season isn't even supposed to start until June 1st (which also happens to be our anniversary -- the irony). Looks like we'll have another excuse to drink this weekend now. It's so Robbie's fault. He was in the Cayman Islands this week -- where this all started!

I want a doctor to take your picture...
Here's a great link I found on the Movable Type support forums tonight -- "How to Build a Photolog in Five Easy Steps".

So if you've been admiring Dawn's Lomolog, Christine's Pixelog, and Kristine's Snap! from afar -- well now you can get started on making your very own!

And for more tips and tricks, stop by the MT Forums (recent discussion #1, recent discussion #2).

Bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yay
And now a moment for man's best friend... I'm not sure if any of you have seen the new "gourmet" doggie treats at Targhét, but Claire freakin' LOVES 'em. Not that she isn't already our bitch or anything, literally and figuratively, but I swear if she had opposable thumbs she'd be doing all of the house and lawn work for these things.

So far we've bought the "Bark 'n' Fetch Biscuits" and "Jump 'n' Sit Bits" (both in Variety, about $2-3 cheaper in stores than on the website). I'm sure we'll be buying more soon though. When Claire realized what I had in the bag tonight, I thought she was going to pass out waiting for me to get them open. If you want to make your own best friend happy, this company definitely gets two-paws-up!

It's ladies night and the feelin's right
Finally -- a skin just for the girlies out there! Yeah, yeah...I know...it was time.

Expect more to come since I just found this great photo archive!

Oh I wish I was a little bar of soap
Just spied over at The Aurora Chair -- Caffeinated Soap from ThinkGeek. "No, we're not kidding and no you don't eat it. The caffeine is absorbed through the skin..."

Beavis, this is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Four guys on blog blog baby
There's some creative Googling, huh? But because I'm easily persuaded... Check out 4Guys.com. Live it. Love it. Wish you had more money so your web site design could be created by it. Now let's talk about that orange for the company site's background, shall we? Just because you're in Houston, TX, really doesn't mean you have an excuse for that...

Show me, show me, show me how you do that trick
I received an e-mail today asking about search and subscribe-list blog features I'd recommend, so I thought I'd list them here, too.

Blog Search Feature:
  1. Expert - MT Search (It's what I use for my blog and Todd's, both running Movable Type.)
  2. Novice - FreeFind (I used this before MT Search was developed. You can customize the look, and it even has a feature I wish MT Search had -- it will e-mail you a list search terms people are looking for through your site.)

Subscribe to Blog Updates:
  1. Expert - (If you're using MT, it comes with a built in notification system. You can also add an "e-mail this entry" section to your individual archive template, like I have in my comments.)
  2. Novice - Bloglet (This great little e-mail list works with Blogger, Radio, Movable Type, Big Blog Tool and Nucleus. I like how you can subscribe to multiple update lists and receive them all in one e-mail.)

And here's a bonus trick from the Scripty Goddesses -- how to allow your blog visitors to subscribe to a particular comment thread, so they can be notified when new comments are added.

Got a better feature/tool than the ones listed? Please post in my comments with a mini-description and explanation why...

Did you catch it?
I took 15 screen captures of Chey on "Call For Help" today, and Jazy's blog has even better ones! By the way, I made the t-shirt she's wearing. The shirts turned out great, if I do say so myself! (Update: Rachel has pics and a sound clip, too.)

Rollin' with the homies
I just wanted to say a quick "THANK YOU!" to Jason of blogrolling.com. I'm probably one of the last bloggers out there to start updating my blog reads with the service -- but you know what they say -- better late than pregnant.

When I got my first link-list set up, I noticed the "recently updated" image prepend wasn't showing up on my list as updated. (I've tweaked my list so a little pink star shows up to next blogs that have recently updated.) However, some of the links on my list were showing up as updated on other blogs using Blogrolling. Convinced I'd broken it somehow, I wrote Jason. Before I even had time to check my e-mail again, there was already a reply there waiting for me, detailing the issue and the plans for a quick fix.

"If you set up the links after the site was on the weblogs.com list then it won't register until they update again and it's at the top of the list. It's a flaw in the logic of how the system currently runs the weblogs.com feed that I'm re-tooling from scratch."

So here's my PSA for the day: If you're not using Blogrolling yet, do so NOW. There's a reason everyone else is. Not only is it incredibly easy to set up, implement, and use -- and the support is lightning-fast -- that new "recently updated" feature is worth every penny. Oh wait, that's right -- it's FREE! You can save those pennies. And thanks again for the help, Jason!

She'll leave her heart in San Francisco
If you get Tech TV, today is the day that Cheyenne of gnome-girl.com is going to appear with Chris on "Call For Help". The show airs live at 5 p.m. EDT, so make sure to catch a rerun if you miss the original airing! (Edited to say: Blogomania got a plug -- w00t!)

Obviously she only played that role on TV
And you thought the achy breaky heart checks were disturbing...check out former "Designing Women" star Delta Burke's furniture up for grabs on eBay! "This exclusive furniture art has no parallel." Could that possibly be because it isn't art?! (From MSNBC.com.)

The drought has ended!
Well look who decided to join the ranks of the blogging again today... I guess now he's earned that redesign I've been taunting him with if he'd only return. Welcome back, baby!

Discover your inner bitch
Last week I discovered the joys of "Hormonal Bitch". Then this week, a spin-off site named "Snarky Bitch" was launched. And last night I got to play around a bit and muddy my feet in the bitchiness since Snarky Bitch is a Blogomania client. Christine asked if I'd be interested in adding a skin, and if so, did I have any good images saved back that would work...

Is Britney Spears a virgin? Oh wait... Is Britney Spears against smoking? Errrr... Well, you bet I did! So if you like the naughty schoolgirl skin here, make sure to check out the new one there! Go visit both sites. There will be a quiz at the end.

And now for something completely different
It's the very first "This or That" with Christine at the reigns!

  1. Bugs Bunny -or- Daffy Duck? Bugs.
  2. Tom -or- Jerry? Jerry.
  3. Mickey Mouse -or- Donald Duck? M.I.C.K.E.Y. M.O.U.S.E.
  4. Rocky & Bullwinkle -or- Boris & Natasha? Boris and Natasha.
  5. Road Runner -or- Wile E. Coyote? Wile E. Coyote.
  6. Sylvester -or- Tweety? Tweety. That was a nickname given to me in junior high when there were three Roby/ins in science class.
  7. Popeye -or- Bluto? Popeye.
  8. South Park -or - The Simpsons? South Park!
  9. Jetsons -or- Flintstones? Fintstones.
  10. And finally, the eternal question asked by all good Scooby-Doo fans: Velma -or- Daphne? *gasp* I wasn't allowed to watch Scooby-Doo as a child. I have spent a lifetime missing inside jokes (like the "Wayne's World" ending) as a result...

Let me see that thong
I've ranted about Americans dressing their pre-teen daughters up as sluts in the past, but Abercrombie & Fitch just decided to take it to a whole new level. I'm assuming the "shock press" wore off on their "Buddha Bash" campaign -- because now their latest must-have includes putting thong underwear on young girls ages 7-14 years old.

"It's cute and fun and sweet," said Hampton Carney, spokesman for the company based in New Albany, Ohio. The national clothing company is selling thong underwear in children's sizes - with the words "eye candy" and "wink wink" printed on the front.

What is wrong with these people?!? Don't they know their customers' daughters won't be able to attend Rancho Bernardo High School dances one day if caught wearing their product? (Article snagged from Daypop.)

I've been working on the railroad...

I posted this in Christine's comments earlier -- but thought I'd share here, too, with graphical illustration: "While watching an old Notre Dame vs. texas game this weekend, Todd and Robbie started referring to the longwhorn mascot as 'the uterus'. If you'll look closely, it does kind of resemble a uterus and fallopian tubes. So of course, all the "UTerus" jokes started flying after that. I will never look at their helmets the same way again!"

You make the call. I've super-imposed one over the other here for your viewing displeasure.

I've seen this floating around various blogs for the past week or so, but it's big news now -- MSNBC.com says "copy-proof CDs foiled by a magic marker". Take that Celine!

May we see your photos please?
I've added ten more photographs to Shutterblog. They were taken earlier today in downtown Tampa when we dropped Robbie and Kelly off at the Port, and then on our drive home. We're still giggling over this last one.

Beach blanket bingo
I'm up later than everyone else again tonight, so I added all of today's beach photos to Shutterblog. (And here's one beach photo in particular from my boys to all the guys out there.) Robbie and Kelly board a cruise out of Tampa tomorrow afternoon. The visits are just never long enough!
