Spies like us
What a welcome back home we've had.....we're just getting back online again since my last post yesterday. Our DSL went out. Again. We're seriously about to switch back to a cable modem.

But since I was forced offline, I finished up my first Lomo roll of film (that I've been working on since my birthday) and had them developed today. Wanna peek at the first one I've scanned (shot down by the Savannah River)? About half of the roll were "misses", but for my first try with an auto-nothing camera, I don't think that's too shabby. Todd isn't a big fan of the Lomo-style now that he's seen the results, but I love it! If only I were as good as Dawn... I've got a lot to learn from her, that's for sure!

UPDATE: You can now see my first ten Lomo-photographs here.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Hmm....wonder if I put it on my wishlist for my upcoming birthday if I'll get it.

Heh.

Glad you had a glorious time. Seriously. Someday, I will return to Savannah and do more than drive around with two drunken degenerates, get buried in the Bonaventure cemetery, and consume something other than three kegs of beer at lunch.

I love my Lomo -- I'm already begging for another one -- and unfortunately our scanner just does NOT do the photos complete justice.

Robyn, I am very curious - have you noticed if your DSL goes out everytime your phone rings? We finally picked up on that pattern recently, and we can't seem to figure out what the reason is. It doesn't go out when we make the call,,only when there's an incoming call.

I haven't noticed that before -- but I'm definitely going to pay attention to it now that you've brought it up! We'll have lived here two years this July and for the first 18 months our Verizon DSL service was wonderful. The last few months it's been complete and utter crap, however. They can't tell us where the outages are, if they're even working on them, and won't give us any kind of ETA on when we'll be back up. It's almost pointless to even call in -- other than yelling makes us feel good after the outage hits the 8+ hour point. ;-)

Hey, Robyn, you weren't the only one. The company I work for has field sales folks in the Tampa area and their DSL went out as well. One of them was quite frustrated as he completely depends upon the DSL for communication to corporate HQ. He was not having luck with the dialer software we use (I think AT&T stands for "A$$holes, Tightwads & Technosludge" the more we work with them). Anyway, it seemed the entire Tampa area was without DSL because two of the companies he calls on didn't have their DSL working, either.

Beautiful example! The lomo will be in my next budget - along a film scanner. This looks like it might be addictive!
