We're just getting back in from a fun-filled day in the Savannah Historic District. We took a trolley tour with Old Town Trolley Tours, which was a great way to see the city. There were fourteen stops, and you could exit to walk around and rejoin with the next trolley any time you wanted. Due to being on dial-up, I'm only uploading 10 small shots right now. Enjoy!
Tomorrow we're back on the road again...so until then...don't do anything I wouldn't do. That should give you all lots of leeway. Thanks for the well-wishes and all the sweet notes left yesterday and today! -Robyn (P.S. Hover mouse over images for browser bar descriptions.)
UPDATE: We didn't spy any stars, but we did see them filming this movie by the river today.
UPDATE 2: You can now find these, and more, Savannah images full-size here.
Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...
Good to see you had a great time downtown. Don't forget to get some Sonic before you leave! There's one out on the islands if you are downtown (that's just a quick jaunt down President St./Islands Expressway) and there's one on King George Blvd. on the way out of town.
I hope you got to see Bonaventure Cemetary, too. It's not near downtown but it's a site that needs to be seen.¤ ¤ credit: Shawn | 04.26.03 at 07:42 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
why are the willows weeping?
apparently graffiti is ok in the park.
and who are those meddling kids?
looks like a fun trip! I'd love to see some more pictures of the historic district. I just love old buildings and houses.¤ ¤ credit: jay | 04.26.03 at 07:50 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
they might as well have just put "yvonne, you're not welcome at this park"¤ ¤ credit: yvonne | 04.26.03 at 07:59 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
Shawn, funny you should say that! There's a Sonic very near our hotel and we grabbed that on the way back for dinner so Todd could catch some of the NFL Draft on TV. :-)
Jay, we've already decided we need another vacation here soon to do more. One day just won't cut it. You need at least a day to tour, and another to shoot photos. I took about 40 and didn't get nearly as many as I'd like. I was also disappointed that the cemetary we visited on our tour wasn't one with statues -- just vaults and tombstones. I wish we had time to take visit the one Shawn suggested, but we're on a pretty tight schedule when we leave in the morning.
Yvonne, too funny (and true). *ducks* And just because I think she's feeling left, out, here are a couple of Claire in the hotel this evening.

Awww, that picture of Claire in the bed with her head on the pillow is so cute! I also love the pic of the cathedral. Absolutely gorgeous. It looks like it reaches into the clouds. Glad to hear you're having fun. We miss you! ;)¤ ¤ credit: GeekGrrl | 04.26.03 at 09:14 PM | link--this ¤ ¤

Awwwww, you guys are so cute. (All three of you!) Glad to hear you're having a good time. Vacations are good.¤ ¤ credit: Sunidesus | 04.26.03 at 10:08 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
Great pics.... this is so cool of you three to share....
the rule he broke.... hmmmm sleeping, nah no time for that... alcohol, would if he could but probably not, what with the trolley, walking, and looking at everything ... littering maybe, don't think he's the type though... profanity, hmmmm ... okay profanity would be my pick...
What fun... can't wait to see where you go tomorrow!!!¤ ¤ credit: Aurora | 04.26.03 at 10:08 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
Are hotels where you can take dogs the norm in America or was it hard to find one?¤ ¤ credit: Jessica Parker | 04.26.03 at 10:15 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
How about you two go out sight-seeing and I'll come dogsit? I just wanna play with the puppy, dammit.¤ ¤ credit: Mike | 04.26.03 at 10:40 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
It looks like you guys are having such a great time. You so deserve it!! Enjoy! :)¤ ¤ credit: LillyAnne | 04.26.03 at 11:27 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
From what you said, Robyn, I think I know which Sonic you are talking about. I forget about that one since it's so far from my home.
I haven't seen the "no profanity" sign, yet. LOL He wasn't the first one to break that rule and won't be the last.
Colonial is a "boring" cemetary compared to Laurel Grove (the north one, not the south one - BIG difference in the two) and Bonaventure. However, it's not so bad for history buffs. I don't usually go to it since they NEVER trim the grass there!
And Claire looks like she had a blast, too. :)¤ ¤ credit: Shawn | 04.26.03 at 11:48 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
Great pics!! Looks like the 2 of you are having a great time!!¤ ¤ credit: Crystal | 04.26.03 at 11:49 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
Heh, I have some of those same pics from MY tour of Savannah! Isn't it a glorious city?¤ ¤ credit: Da Goddess | 04.27.03 at 12:18 AM | link--this ¤ ¤
What the hey! You're 30 miles from my house and you don't stop by. And on my birthday too. Next time tell someone you are coming to Savannah, I could have got you into some of the good tours and stuff.
Love the pics!¤ ¤ credit: Yog Sothoth | 04.27.03 at 12:39 AM | link--this ¤ ¤
Oh wow, great pictures! I really really like the Cathedral shot. It screams blog template to me LOL!
mmmm Dermot! Too bad you didn't get to catch a glimpse of him ;-)
I love when dogs give you kisses on the face and make you laugh hard. You all look so cute and happy! I am glad you are having so much fun :) Don't wear yourself out though, hon.¤ ¤ credit: Nancy | 04.27.03 at 01:41 AM | link--this ¤ ¤
Oh, and one last thought - who is adjusting to who's hours? You to Todd's or Todd to yours? ;)¤ ¤ credit: Nancy | 04.27.03 at 01:44 AM | link--this ¤ ¤
Awww, it's good to see pictures from home!¤ ¤ credit: becky | 04.27.03 at 02:38 AM | link--this ¤ ¤
Savannah's such a pretty little town. I last went there with my dad in 1981. I keep forgetting that I am no longer stuck in Miami -- now I can drive out of the state without having to be on the road all damn day. Hmm... road trip... (It will have to be some time from now, though -- work is going to be very hectic next month because my boss is going on a trip).¤ ¤ credit: Andrea Harris | 04.27.03 at 12:15 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
