Posted: 04.24.2003 No, not just for some but for everyone...
I'm filing both of these away for future reference regarding the "bloggers helping bloggers fund" portion of this year's Boobie-Thon proceeds (please don't vote now -- that will come later in September):
Robyn, thank you for the plug girl. That really helps. You get waaayyy more traffic than me. Thanks!! ¤ ¤ credit: kat | 04.24.03 at 06:00 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Any time, babe! Wish I could have donated more right now... ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.03 at 06:03 PM | link--this ¤ ¤I say give it to Kat. A fancy diamond ring and wedding is NOT a necessity of life (although it IS nice!). It's just that I am more worried about Kat, and how she's gonna support her kids should she become disabled and cannot work. I don't know Kat very well, but from what I have read, the father of those kids ain't doing jack shit for them! She seems like a good person who only wants to do what is best for her boys. I'm going to send her some money! Chuck seems like a nice, sincere guy, and if peoople want to send him money, that's cool...much better than that Karyn bitch! But still...I am happy with the $700 engagement ring that Mike got me from Sears (the diamond is top-quality, BTW, even if it is small by some people's standards)...I don't WANT a bigger one...EVER! I don't need a huge rock on my hand to prove that my man loves me! Just stating my opinion here! :) ¤ ¤ credit: christine m. | 04.24.03 at 06:06 PM | link--this ¤ ¤I'm not taking voting on causes yet, so please don't 500 people come in and "vote" behind Christine. ;-) Please, please pretty please -- I don't have time for the e-mails right now! Of course, that said...my first engagement ring was a gold twist-tie. I'm as proud of that as my "real" ring. ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.03 at 06:12 PM | link--this ¤ ¤What the world needs now, is a 2 carat solitaire, sweet 2 carat solitare... ¤ ¤ credit: Jeff | 04.24.03 at 06:21 PM | link--this ¤ ¤I'll take this one, please... ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.03 at 06:29 PM | link--this ¤ ¤You're alright, Robyn... you know that? Robyn, you are AWESOME!! {{{Hugs}}} You rawk girl!! :) ¤ ¤ credit: Maria | 04.24.03 at 07:43 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Ooops, I meant to vote for Kat too! Got carried away with Robyn adoration!! :D Kat has 2 kids she is raising by herself, and she is one awesome lady!! ¤ ¤ credit: Maria | 04.24.03 at 07:45 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Crud!! I just read down the rest of the comments!! Forgive me Robyn!! I'm an idiot!! D'oh!! :o( ¤ ¤ credit: Maria | 04.24.03 at 07:46 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Robyn you do rule. And well folks I do not expect the love of my life would be happy if I got her a huge 2 car ring. But I did alot off research on diamonds and I want to get her at least a vs1 or vs2 rock. Somthing that is investment grade. But hey, this is all me, she thinks I am nuts for asking. Since Eli's surgery is going to be more than even I expected unless people send in a lot soon I think my fund is going to quietly grow by $5 at a time for a long time. But hey,, we met on the net, fell in love on the net, and I think it would be cool to get a ring at least partly through net friends. Anyways, I have never said my “fund” is life or death, but you know it is real. This is cool. I would add my own "cause" (if I technically claimed to have one) and that I'm moving back to San Diego to follow my dream of owning my own design company and being a jazz singer...and I owe $11k in taxes. ;) BUT...I don't care how much money I need... there are far more people in far more need than I out there. I'm intrigued to see what people nominate as a worthy cause. ¤ ¤ credit: Joelle | 04.24.03 at 08:36 PM | link--this ¤ ¤LOL. excuse me while I step down off the cross. jesus, on re-read, could that have come off more martyr-ish? hahahaha. ¤ ¤ credit: Joelle | 04.24.03 at 08:37 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Just FYI, there was a pretty good discussion about diamond rings on my site a few months ago. The consensus seemed to be a genuine surprise over the fact that the "tradition" of a diamond engagement ring is actually a relatively recent creation of a monopolist cartel that was trying to prop up its prices. ¤ ¤ credit: Anil | 04.26.03 at 10:19 AM | link--this ¤ ¤
