Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
This should almost be like a "don't ask, don't tell" blog entry I think. We watched "Maid in Manhattan" from Netflix tonight. It was so, so very bad. One of those 90 minutes of my life...gone...kinda deals.

So then Todd flipped over to regular TV and we caught the very tail end of Mr. Personality. We didn't even watch but five minutes, and we're both already creeped out. The whole masks and blindfolding thing -- it's just way too strange for me. And another thing... The most overused phrase on reality TV is now "on this journey". Everything is a journey. No it's not. It's a "let's see how long I can milk this thing 'til Playboy comes-a calling" experience. That's it. You want a journey? Book a safari to Africa, darlin'. It's pretty sad when the thing that's the least odd about your show is the fact Monica Lewinsky is the host.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

I watched the entire show. it's entirely creepy.

Come on Robyn, I could have told u that Maid In Manhattan was bad. Now if you don't mind getting scared, three movies, two of which are on dvd, that I would recommend are Phone Booth, The Ring, and One Hour Photo. Great movies indeed.

I liked "The Wedding Planner" though. Of course I now realize that it's 100% due to Matthew McConaughey.

And I'm not a big fan of scary movies. Sorry!

Well, i've gotta agree with The Wedding Planner being a good movie. It seems u like the romantic movies, try Beauty and the Beast, its a great Disney Classic. Lady and the Tramp is also a good one. ;-)

Own 'em both. We have the full Disney DVD and video collection. Just not the kids...yet... Why do you think we have a cocker, btw. ;-)

Mr. Personality...I LOVED IT. I sh*t you not! It's a freaking train wreck and I can't turn my eyes away.

Oh and my wife has been collecting the Disney DVD's for a while now. She also has a very large catalog of both the english and french versions in VHS.

Not surprised about the movie, although I really did like "The Wedding Planner".

I watch a lot of reality dating crap (I guess because of my situation). It was crazy but it did make me think... can you pick someone based on their personality?

I think personality is important (I personally know that looks aren't the MOST important part of your relationship by experience) but that initial attraction has to be there!!! IMHO.

I found it funny that none of the guys on Mr. Personality were particularly unattractive - one was balding, and another was slightly crosseyed, but other than that, they were all definitely not bad looking at all.

I don't know why, but I'm oddly attracted to Monica. And it's not because she gives knob jobs.

I'm with you, Robyn. I saw a commercial promoting Mr. Personality and the first thing I thought of was Eyes Wide Shut...a total freakfest. I also noted that pretty much all of those guys weren't bad-looking to begin with, completely negating the point.

I'll probably end up tuning in once in a while, though, because being single it's nice to see how some people will do WAY more desperate stuff than I'm willing to do to get a date. Yet.

If you're looking for a theater movie, Bulletproof Monk wasn't bad at all. I thought for sure Stifler (Seann William Scott) would ruin it, but he actually did pretty decent in it. Chow Yun-Fat kicked ass, as usual. I wrote up a whole big review on my blog but it's probably disappearedededed by now. :/

"on this journey" is a very popular reality tv phrase.

I've noted it in Joe Millionaire and Temptation Island II as well.

They have to do something to dress up the fact that they're trying to serve nothing but eyecandy and scandals.

If you hear the word Journey on Fear factor, then you know we're all in trouble.

"Maid In Manhattan"...ugh! I have not seen it, but from the promos I have seen on TV, I knew I would probably not like it.

J.Ho & Ray Fiennes??? I don't think so!

"The Wedding Planner" was okay, but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Maybe it is just that I don't care much for J.Ho.

As for these dating *reality* shows...I can't look! The only reason to own a TV for me is to watch DVD's that I like, as well as baseball and PBS cooking shows. That's about it!

My wife, Shawn (webgrrlie) refuses to watch Mr. Personality. She says, as many do, that the mask thing creeps her out to no end. I have no intrest cause of the hostess, if you can even call her that.

I think these days they prefer to be called "Madams". Although I could be wrong...

i saw about 20 minutes of mr personality, and it was all worth it to see one guy flip out over the hired psychics and then go *off* (repeatedly) on the main chick after he took his mask off. too funny.

some of the guys are cute, but a few of them actually seem really genuine and nice, too. double creepy. *shudder*

You know, everything really is a matter of perspective. Friday night, I rented Maid in Manhattan, The Tuxedo, The Coven, and The Killing Club.

First of all, women who have recently ended a relationship with a not so nice man should NOT be allowed to watch The Killing Club. Second, Traci Lords is NOT an actress. I don't know why she keeps trying. Movie SUCKED. Then I watched the Tuxedo...suitably decent and amusing. Then the Coven - SO VERY BAD that when I watched Maid In Manhattan afterwards, it looked Oscar-worthy.

I liked The Wedding Planner too. (Although it's for the same reason you do. ;) ) So I gave Maid In Manhattan a try... It looked good in the previews.

I have rarely been so disappointed in a movie as I was in that one. I kept waiting for it to redeem itself. It never did.

What an absolute waste of time.
