It's frickin' freezing in here, Mr. Bigglesworth
[Brrrrrrr!]

Last week I whined that Tampa Bay was dipping into freezing digits. Well this weekend it's going to dip into the 20s here! The 20s! Yeah, yeah. I know. You're at -16° windchill right now and don't have much sympathy for us. But ask yourself this. Do you have a coat? Do you own gloves? Do you wear thermal underwear? Well you're already doing better than we are. We have one coat to split between us. Everything else is lightweight jackets. I only own about five pairs of socks, none of them thick.

And with our humidity down here, it sinks into your bones. Our blood has thinned out. We'll readily admit we're weather-wussies after six years in the Bay area, but after '95-'96 in Philly (lowest temps and highest snow totals in the city's history), I know cold. And this...is cold. But go ahead. Laugh at us all you want. When you have to take out a second-mortgage just to make a fruit salad and have a glass of juice in about 3 months, I'll kindly redirect you right back here...

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

We just had 20's here too! Looks like this weekend will mirror the last!

Hmmmm. Nope, no sympathy, we're at -24F.

Yep, but you chose to live in the great white North. We moved to FLORIDA! :-)

this non-native floridian will NOT be going outside this weekend. I don't even really have a light jacket, let alone a COAT! But I do have the best gloves those, and an awesome hat. I would still need a coat though...

I moved to North carolina so I wouldn't have to see single digit degrees again. Here we are expected snow and single digit wind chills. I am not having fun!

I was born here! No choice involved! And half of me is genetically adapted to a near-tropical environment!

I will attest to the cold weather in Florida. While I was in the House of Mouse for New Years the weather dropped into the 30s. I shrugged my shoulders because in Joisey 30 degrees mean you have to wear a coat but not necessarily gloves and all that other stuff. Let me tell you something. With that humidity and the wind blowing off the Gulf it was so cold. My father had the nerve to try to convince us to move down there. I said "Let it warm up into at least the 50s before asking me that question!"

See, that's what I've been trying to tell people! Even the Northerners were complaining about the cold down here at Thanksgiving -- and it was in the low 40s then! We're almost 20 degrees colder than that now up in the 'burbs. (And we live less than 15 miles from the water.)

Sorry girl, as much as I would like to sympathize it's -40C [-40f] here tonight.

Yeah, but you got your love to keep you warm, Robyn.

Temps here are about the same as yours. Although normally it is suppose to be colder than that. So to me it is kind of mild.

I hear it's rather warm in San Diego :)

Not even gonna comment. Not gonna say anything about tomorrow's low being -8. Without wind chill. Nope, not gonna say it.

;-)

(And FYI, I rarely wear a coat, unless it's below zero.)

Yup, we're at 22 right now with a wind chill of 13.....low tonight should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 12. Just 12. Who know's what the wind chill is gonna be.

But! I wouldn't give this up for anything.....I *live* for this kind of weather and it is actually just goddamn cold enough this year to make me happy :-)

So you can keep your damn Florida - we don't want any :-p

;-)

Thank you for conveying our pain...

It’s cold, I don’t own a coat (not gonna buy one either) and I’m driving my convertible.

At least the AC has a heating element in it, I can’t imagine staying with my parents during this cold snap. They don’t have AC and an old gas stove in the living room. (Yes I did grow up in South Florida without AC, but I need my friggin heater)

Ahhh the joys of life in South FLA

It was so warm here today, 84, I believe. I remember living in Orlando and not owning a coat, much less warm clothes.

You know, I feel sorry for myself with this cold weather, but my cousin goes to UNE where she said it was supposed to be like -25° with the windchill. I think even I'll shut up.
