Did anyone get the number...
...of the Mack truck that leveled my ass? I woke up feeling awful yesterday, but forced myself to go to the OU watch party. It was (supposed to be) a huge game, and I was too superstitious to stay home. From the second we walked in, people asked if I was dying. Guess I looked the part. And by the second half, I could barely move -- but didn't care looking at the score.

Did you happen to catch the results of yesterday's game? OU destroyed Heisman hopeful Seneca Wallace and the Cyclones. The only real shot ISU had a touchdown came on an OU fumble during a return (the game was a monsoon at times), and Iowa State recovered at the 1-yard line. On FOUR tries, they got knocked backwards instead of forwards. And the Sooners never looked back. From ESPN: "Wallace nearly threw more interceptions (3) than completions (4 of 22), as Iowa State cobbled together just 60 total yards of offense on 45 plays, the fourth worst total in school history."

OU is ranked first in several of the computer polls now, and second in the AP and Coaches Polls. The BCS rankings will be released for the first time tomorrow.

Up next is the Bucs vs. Eagles on FOX. There is no love lost between the teams, and the Eagles have had our number in years past. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to the couch and die while wrapped up in these.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

I hope that you feel better soon Robyn!!!!

You will never see me on the Eagles bandwagon. I've hated them since childhood (since I grew up a Cowboys fan), and nothing makes me happier than watching them finally getting knocked out of the playoffs each year -- even when we lose to them in the playoffs as well. Living in Philly during football season only solidified my hatred of the team -- and their fans. There's a reason the Vet was the only stadium in the League at the time with a jail (and maybe still is). Throwing iceballs at the opposing team's coaches' and player's HEADS just personifies the lack of class in the stands.

However, that said -- the team I live and breathe for won this weekend so I'm happy. I love it when the Bucs win. I live for the Sooners to do so...

Aww, c'mon now. The Eagles aren't that bad. But I agree, Philly fans are out of control. I saw a video clip last year of a Flyers fan jumping over the glass at a hockey game to punch a player from the other team who was in the penalty box. But I'm not a crazy Philly fan. Honest :) And like you, I love it when my team wins!

So if you wanna hate me now cuz I'm a Philly fan, I can understand....

Nah, I had plenty of friends who were Eagles fans when I lived up there -- I don't hate *individual* fans. Just the atmosphere as a whole. I quite enjoyed watching the smack-talk end when Switzer surprised 'em at home in the fourth in '95. Everyone at work wore silver and blue the next day, having lost the bet. ;-)

Philadelphia simply has the most passionate fans in all of sport. Across the board, bar none. We do everything passionately. Cheer, boo, whatever. Philly fans love their teams, it's almost a religion...the city smiles when our team wins, frowns when our team loses. While every other city in America continues on with their normal lives and says "it's just a game" Philly fans cry, complain, and wonder "what if" until the next game is played. Don't confuse passion with hate, or bad fans.

Don't hold your breath waiting for them to lose in the playoffs this year. ;)

p.s Every team's fans have thrown things before. This has been going on since the invention of the stadium. (the raiders fans last week, throwing batteries and bottles at the chargers, for example)

Well it's good to know the "my friend jumped off a bridge so it's ok for me to do it, too" excuse is still alive and well...

Well...I hope you are feeling better by now. I was in Nashville at a meeting and found time to watch the game and what happens.....they switch it at half time! I didn't get to see all of it!
