More Dell hell
Remember when I told Dell to "byte me" and switched to Apple? Well Chris Pirillo is learning why Inspirons are the pond scum of the laptop world now as well. I'm tellin' ya' folks...just don't do it. Close the Dell website and put the credit card safely away. For every "but mine has never given me any problems" story I hear, there are ten more tales of doom lined up right behind them. And just ask Susan and Joy what happens after making that "but mine's ok" claim! You taunt your Dell, and it says, "Oh yeah, buddy?" right back.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Mike's laptop is one of those Evil Dell Inspirons. And Mike is yet another one of those people who sang the praises of Dell, until he started having problems with this thing, and had to call Customer Disservice. Now he says he will never buy another Dell. Ever.

As for me, when I was on vacation and went to the Java Net Cafe, I used an Apple. Nice! I'm seriously thinking about getting one when I get my next computer!

Speak of the Dell-vil (ha!), last week my fan crapped out and now I have to send it in for repairs. *sigh* I should have never made that claim...

I love my dell. I have a laptop and a desktop. They both work great. Much better than any Compaq, HP or IBM that I have ever bought.

ok now i will wait for everything to breakdown when i get home to my babies.

Okay, so I won't personally be affected let me just say that all we have at work are Dells, both desktops and notebooks. Never heard a bad thing about them from Tech Services and all the ones I've used run wonderfully. That's hundreds of Dells right there. (Okay, so maybe I'm trying to jinx work so they'll blow up by tomorrow and we'll have an involuntary day off. ;))

Their business machines are built much better, and last much longer. They want that repeat corporate account business. It's the personal use ones that develop the most trouble.

*pets his Dell Dimension.*

I'm having a three-year birthday party for my computer in a month ;) Of course, you know what that means ... that's right, extended warranty is OVER. Anyone wanna take bets on how long it lasts after that runs out? ;)

I'm hoping mine won't crap out before I can get enough cash saved to buy a new laptop.

Corporate Dell here. The Latitude with Attitude is celebrating it's one year birthday. We have the 3 year on site warranty for it, so I'll continue to love it. Plus it belongs to the boss, so if it dies then he gets to deal with it!

My campus bought Dell laptops to loan to the freshman class last year. They are heavy, ugly, useless machines with a 30-minute battery. On top of that, the IT staff have restricted the OS to the point that students can't do anything with them except write and web surf... which makes the "investment" in a laptop university a major joke.

My husband has a Power Book and loves it, so much so that I rarely get to use it (I get stuck with the so-so, nearly 3-year old Gateway at home) so I plan on buying my own in October. :)
