The Scripty Goddesses have done it again! Kristine has written up a most-excellent tutorial on getting MySQL ready to store your Movable Type database in the new MT Version 2.2 and above. I had no clue where to even begin. Now I do. Thanks Kristine!
Seems I'm always one step behind. Oh well, my server doesn't have MySQL on the package I'm on so I'll just have to stick with DB. Guess who? I just got 2.21 installed at my new domain. Will be designing in the next few days. I'll try not to rip ALL my hair out! ¤ ¤ credit: Jessica Parker | 07.24.02 at 08:04 AM | link--this ¤ ¤I'm so thankful for her tutorial. I was getting a really bad headache from beating my head on the keyboard! ¤ ¤ credit: Christine | 07.24.02 at 12:04 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Thanks for the link. I'm all switched now! ¤ ¤ credit: Ashley | 07.24.02 at 02:23 PM | link--this ¤ ¤I'm still not sure what the advantage of mysql really is, even though I know my server has it installed, thanks to the fink project for OS X. Thing is, with DB I can just drag and drop that folder from my iMac (site server) to my iBook (my main comp) and know that I have an easy back up. And can just drag and drop it back if I ever screw it up, disk goes bad, or someone hacks in and messes around, I don't know how to do that nearly as simply with mysql. ¤ ¤ credit: John Kenneth Fisher | 07.25.02 at 02:35 AM | link--this ¤ ¤As I sit in my Oracle DBA class I tell you that I am happy she put up this tutorial. We have just touched upon creating a db with this class session. Woo hoo!!!!! Thanks Scripty ¤ ¤ credit: bink | 07.27.02 at 01:16 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
