Posted: 07.18.2002 Now we know who we're looking for
The Smoking Gun has the mugshot of Charles Benoit. He's the 24 year-old man charged with felony animal abuse for allegedly burning a seven-week-old kitten on a barbecue grill in Liberty, MO.
 If I ever come across this guy he's in deep, deep trouble. His face appeals to me the way a pinata appeals to a small child: I want to hit it again and again with a solid cudgel. (I blogged about it last week.) All along they had said "the mom is in jail on unrelated charges of bogus checks". Well yesterday, they announced that she waited several days before reporting her son missing (the babysitters that killed him told her he'd been abducted) because she knew there was an outstanding warrant and if she reported him missing, she'd go to jail.
