Serenity now! Insanity later.
When will TV execs learn that the cast of Seinfeld was only funny together in the cast of Seinfeld? Apart. Not so funny. Bye "Watching Ellie". I hope you stay off the fall 2002 line-up all season long!

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Personally I'm perplexed how Seinfeld himself managed to inspire that show, because really he's not too funny by himself.

I have to agree with you on that--but it isn't really limited to "Seinfeld." Remember all the "M*A*S*H" alumni who failed in their own sitcoms? I hope that doesn't happen to the cast of "Friends"!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Together they were fun, but apart they pretty much all suck.

I'm just waiting for her to fall from grace and end up doing porn. She's always had that look to me for some reason.

I watched a few episodes. I thought the idea/premise behind the show was clever. 22 minutes in the life of...her. But it just wasn't funny. At all.

They should just bring back Seinfeld.

overheard: NBC saying to Ellie... "GET OUT!"

I feel that Jerry was truly the catalyst for the show. It wouldn't have worked without him. Have you seen Jerry's Broadway routing "I"m Telling You for the Last Time", which aired on HBO? He is arguably funny, all by himself. The Seinfeld curse is alive and well, however. 'Ellie' and 'Richards' were awful. I didn't see 'Bob', it was gone so quickly!

Donny -- you didn't miss much with "Bob". It was downright awful. Even worse than his KFC commercials...

honestly, i think that the only person from that show that shoulda made a spin off was Putty. He was hilarious!

I gotta admit that I have really enjoyed the music from "Ellie". Network TV will usually cater to the lowest common denominator, and that just ain't the case with this show. Whoever picks the tunes and musicians for "Ellie" obvously gives a damn about doing a good job.

Ellie must have been crap because Australian TV didn't pick it up, not even in the "dull as shit" mid-year run. Putty was in an Aussie movie a couple of years back called "The Dish". It's the story of Australia's role in beaming the images back to earth for the 1969 moon landing. It's a warm and fuzzy movie and a great showcase of all things Australian back in the late 60's. If it's available, grab a copy and watch it.
