Look! A fixed iBook!
Hey guess what?! Remember this and this regarding the problems I was having with my iBook? Well now I have reason number 10,947 to love my husband. He didn't give up 'til he fixed everything for me! He details his solution here -- basically it was a problem with Mac fonts gone bad. There's still a blog or two we can't view because of CSS issues, but everyone I've talked to running OSX and IE 5.1 has problems with them. It's not just me. For now I'm happy though -- I can finally surf imdb.com on my iBook! Thanks schmoopie! And thanks to everyone who wrote with suggestions and helped point him in the right direction!

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

wait.....which sites don't work now? mine still?

Unfortunately yours is one of the CSS-issues sites that still crashes IE 5.1 on my Mac, Hoopty. :-(

oh my, that's cool!

E was having problems with seeing one of his games properly because of one of the fonts installed, and it took us FOREVER to figure that out. weird....

So I wonder if I have a weird font in one of my stylesheets that would do that... let me know and I'll go through them to doublecheck :)

One day all this CSS vs Apple vs IE5 vs IE6 vs Netscape vs goddamm everything is going to make me decide I don't want to be a web designer anymore. This is precisely the reason why I don't do anything fancy on my sites and I don't ever plan on doing so. I'll learn PHP as it's server side, but the rest of it can go fudge itself!!! You make something that runs for IE5 then IE6 comes out and the damn thing doesn't work!!!!

Ah... I seem to remember suggesting (among the countless other things) it was a FONT problem. :) Glad it's working better now. Anyone with CSS problems like hoopty can run their HTML and CSS through the w3.org's validators for help:

Fonts! That NEVER EVER would have occured to me.... but it really makes perfect sense if you think about it. Oh well. Glad you got it fixed though :-)
