Another one bites the dust
I actually shrieked "NOOOOOOO!" so loud over this that Todd came running in to see what was wrong. I've read ChickClick since 1997. Sigh. (UPDATE: One of the site's spin-offs Disgruntled Housewife is still there - for now - though. Phew!)

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

That only half-sucks. They had SO many ads and you had to sign up to read any of the good articles, towards the end. It was good while it lasted!

Like all things, it was great in the beginning, but you knew the end was coming when they did away with half of what brought surfers to them in the first place.

It was too bad though, one of my best email addys were through them: nychick@chickmail.com.

Always an original *grin*.

I can't blast them for ads too much as I need them to keep WM! afloat and worth my time, as well. I hated when they went to subscription for their articles -- but I loved all of the spin-off sites they had. I did worry when Oxygen picked them up about being able to "compete" in a field of competitors funded by Oprah, and I guess in the end, my fears were right. I was very sad to see "The Adventures of Break-Up Girl" go offline with them though. That site consoled many a girlfriend on an ice cream and "Thema and Louise" filled night...
