An open book
Well as expected, my mom wasn't too fond of this entry. I had a "short-n-sweet" e-mail waiting for me when I got up today. To be honest, after we talked about it, I'm not sure if she'll continue to read along here or not. I guess last night was the first time I really made that conscious choice over what not to write because she was reading, but rather putting up what I wanted to write about despite the fact she was reading... In the end I decided that I'm not writing for her life -- I'm writing about mine. I love my mom, but we don't always see eye-to-eye and probably never will. That's what makes me "me", and not "her". And that is all I have to say about that...

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Everybody with a blog has to make a similar decision at some point. Do I want my boyfriend/mother/little brother reading about my tequilla-fueled threesome? (Or, worse, my decision to vote Republican.) Your entry was reasonable (and amusing), you were up front that it might upset your Mom, and you've already adressed the situation.

Mothers and daughters don't see eye-to-eye on everything, but your blog does rock.

At least you told your mom :) the only one I told in my family I had a blog besides my husband was my sister I am still waiting to see if I need to complain about family members first hee hee :)
I do understand though about the pressures of living our lives that sometimes might be the contrary to our families

Now c'mon... We all know I would never, ever admit to voting Republican! ;-p

so... are you saying that your mom desperately wants you to be bi?

oh hey, your mom probably reads the comments too, huh. I was just kidding, Mrs. O'Rourke!

No mom wants to hear her daughter talk about such things. Every Mom secretly wishes her daughter would never have sex until marriage. y'know what I mean?

Howdy. I just wanted to point out that your blog has been listed at backwash.com and is currently being discussed at http://www.backwash.com/contentboard.php?con_id=17399&msg=post

I wasn't quite certain if a defense was needed (you'll note the title of the entry is "My Husband Calls This The Panty Blog"), and I'm more than certain if it were you could defend yourself, but I jumped in anyway. (I post as KungFuKitten)

wow. your mom's mad that you're straight?

But I am married, Meryl! ;-) She's upset I discussed my sexuality at all though... (And her last name is Layman now. No rimshot jokes needed...heh heh...)

your mom's first name isn't Ivana, is it?

¤ ¤ credit: mikey | 03.13.02 at 06:41 PM | link--this ¤ ¤

Well it rhymes -- it's Rhonda!

it's a wonderful thing that you and your mom can talk about an issue at hand and discuss it and agree to disagree. it took me a long time to get there... and i'm still hoping my sister gets there someday...

I'm SOOOO glad my momma is technologically impaired. Boss too.

So lemme get this right, you're not Bi? *cowers in fear of being thwapped*

Yeah, I'm 1) lucky my parents are not all that technolgoically inclined... and 2) I've blocked their IP and the IP of my sister in law... the two people I like to whine about the most! LOL!!! (but actually haven't in a long time) THERE IS NO WAY I'd want them to read my blog!

I think it's great that your mom reads your blog! I gave my mom the link, but she only read it once. I guess I'm just too damn boring...even for my mom.

You're way ahead of me, I have told no one IRL about my blog :)

My mother tends to read the blog before calling so we can discuss all the current issues in my life... and then she tells me all of hers and I say "yes Mom" a lot. But she's cool, she keeps threatenning to get her own blog and put me to shame, she's the source of my sense of humor after all... although she's more Spike Milligan whereas I'm more Monty Python.

Both of my parents read my blog. My dad doesn't always like what I say. *snort*

My mom, on the other hand, is very cool, and we're more like best friends than mother and daughter. She gets a kick out of my sense of humor and foul mouth and all of my rantings.

I look at it like this - they are the ones invading your privacy. Yes, it's out there for all to see, but it's still YOUR site, and they are your parents, and it's kinda like reading your diary, you know?

So, if they don't like it, they can bugger off. (My dad SAYS he doesn't read anymore, after I railed on him, but I know he does. LOL)

I think your skins of girls represent your view of who you are, not who you like to look at. Since it's your site/blog, they show who you are by their stance, attitude, etc. Robyn's Mom, it's her site, bottom line, I know she is probably sorry if she offended you but it's her little corner of the world to express her feelings. Kiss and make up!

I can relate to this post. I really weed out what I could say in fear that one my students, my parents, or my future in laws are reading my pointless thoughts.....
