Posted: 01.13.2002 My biggest fear realized
If I seem unusally quiet for the next few days, my (Dell) laptop is officially hosed. It will only power-up about once every fifty times of trying to turn it on. And of course, it's about six months out of warranty now. So until this nightmare is straightened out...please continue to hold. Your call is important to us.

When we called tech support, they suggested with take out the hard drive and then put it back in. Works every time. Something about resetting it receding. I don't know, but it most definitely worked. You might want give that a try. It's pretty simple, just turn it over and unscrew the hard drive screws and out it comes then place it back in.
