Aaaaaaa...afternoon delight
You know how you get a song stuck in your head for days, so you finally go snag a copy? Well that happened to me this week with a song called "Mouth". It's a few years old, and I'm not sure if a commercial sparked the memory or what... Then I went to search for the lyrics. How did the meaning of this song skip by me all this time? I played the song for Todd to see if he remembered it, and he replied, "Oh yeah." So I asked him if he knew what the song was about... Blank stare. So I showed him the words and he was just as shocked as I was. At least it's not as bad as when "I Touch Myself" went over my head back in high school and I had to have it 'splained to me. I swear...I'm such a blonde sometimes! So here...now you can feel all sweet, yet dirty, right along with us:

And since we're on the subject of oral fixation today, here's a bonus track:

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

I have this CD. She does an incredible remake of Pet SHop Boys Being Boring.

Even after reading the lyrics, I still find the meaning behind the song rather vague. Maybe I'm being blond...

I know what you mean about the Divinyles tune, and to think someone made a parody of Pee Wee Herman singing it. I remember when one kid sang that in Study Hall, the teacher was blushing big time haha. Never knew 100% about the lyrics to mouth though, I just remember it getting lots and lots of air play.

Well, for the PG-13 'splanation...think of, uhhhh, salty lips, and flipping someone over to "taste it". And that's all I'm sayin'. ;-)

2 great songs, I love them both. I think I will finish it off with a little "I Touch Myself"

Always one to help out...

Never paid attention to that Merril Bainbridge song until I read the lyrics. Interesting...

The funny thing about the Garbage song is it's feature in a PlayStation 2 game called Amplitude, a music game that's aimed at all ages. I'm glad I didn't have to explain the lyrics to my son when we played it.

Okay, I think I get the mouth part. But what's the deal about being famous on TV?

I have to admit, I've never heard this song before (might husband might), but it is not a bad song... ;)

The song that escaped me for a long time was Turning Japanese by The Vapors. I never knew what the phrase meant until I saw a show on VH1 (top 100 raunchiest songs or something).

OK, you guys do realise that both Ms Bainbridge AND the Divinyls are Australian don't you?

Merril is quite the talentless bore in my books, but the Divinyls kick arse!! They rock. How that girl got a contract is beyond me, she must have sucked John Farnhams ding-dong!! (John Farnham is also an Aussie singer - not sure if he made it over to the USA - but he was one of the original singers in Little River Band)

From the other Aussie I was just about to say what J.P said. But Merril dissapeared as quickly as she became famous!

What was even more disturbing was while out shopping we heard a 12 year old girl singing this song as she walked through the shoe department.

Even though it is just a song about kissing, it didn't sound right coming from a child's mouth.

It IS about kissing, right? Or maybe I'm clueless.

Then again, I was in my 20's before I learned the true meaning of "She Bop."
