La la la la la - she's got the look

Cosmetics companies have agreed to give away $175 million dollars worth of products to settle a price-fixing lawsuit -- that's according to lawyers involved in the case. The settlement, which must be approved by a federal judge, involves some of the country's largest cosmetics manufacturers and retailers. The giveaway is expected to take place in about a year, and would involve products specially manufactured for the occasion, according to lawyers involved in the case...

No receipts would be required to get a free product...Defendants in the suit include cosmetics manufacturers Estee Lauder, L'Oreal, Clarins Boucheron, Chanel, Christian Dior, Conopco and Guerlain; and retailers Bloomingdale's, Dillard's, Federated Department Stores, Gottschalk's, May Department Stores, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks and Target.

Once the products are ready, customers will have only one seven-day period to claim their free goods. They will probably be given only one or at most two products apiece. [link 1, link 2, link 3]

I believe I have some free loot due to me, that's for sure!

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Sure, cosmetics can be a rip-off, but just because they never go on sale, people sued? I'm not sure I understand. I mean, you can find discounted cosmetics online and it's not like they never have those gift-with-purchases.

But, still... free. I love free.

It didn't make much sense to me either... It's not like you don't have the choice of shopping drugstore vs. department store (although companies like Target and L'Oreal were named in the suit as well). But I've definitely earned my freebies over the years, and you can bet your sweept bippie I'll be in line to get 'em! ;-)

Excellent! Free make-up! Woo hoo! And after the pain that I've experienced by losing my favorite Lancome eyeshadow and buying a ton of stuff online that I *hoped* was it (but, alas, was not), I'll need something to ease my trauma. ;)

*blink* I guess now would be the time to start wearing a little makeup ;o) I am surprised at the lawsuit though, it is not something i was expecting.

Damn.....I didn't see Clinique on that list.

Still...free is free and I'm in need. Of course, we'll be waiting forever for it to happen.
