I want candy
I need something light and fluffy around here right now...so hows-about we all share our favorite childhood candy? Mine, hands down, would have to be Zotz. I loved to make those suckers foam up in my mouth. ('Splains a lot doesn't it?) Here's a few ideas to get you started...

Pixy Stix, Gold Rock Nugget Bubble Gum, Charms, Nerds, Sprees, Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip, Bubble Gum Cigarettes, Atomic Fire Balls, Lemonheads, Tart 'n' Tiny, Now & Later, Boston Baked Beans, Candy Buttons, Laffy Taffy, Pop Rocks, Candy Lipstick, Sixlets, Candy Necklace, Big League Chew, Rock Candy, and DOTS

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

I really used to dig the yellow box of Russel-Stovers chocolates. However, We just got a kilogram of handmade chocolates from Brussels.(family from Europe is in town for the next few weeks) I'm going to go pig out now :)

Those are all awesome, bu you know what? I have *never* had Pez candy, and here I am, Mr. Sweet Tooth!

Fireballs and Fun Dip have always been faves... even still!

NERDS!!

Oh and Rock Candy, for scaring the dentist.

Mmmmm...fireballs! And never had Pez? There's no excuse for that, even for a Canadian! ;-p

Candy cigarettes were the best. Little puffs of sugar would come out of the ends and you could pretend you were smoking. How umm...cool.

Well, it used to be.

You should see all the kids on my son's baseball team with their Big League Chew. They stick it in the sides of their mouths and then spit on the ground. Yea, purple and pink spit is real macho!

Dots were always great. So was Big League Chew and Ring Pops.

My very favorite candy ever would have to be a PB Maxx, which was kind of like a big square Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, but a million times better (and I loves me some Reese's). I really wish they still made those!

Candy cigs were the best! I like the little candy necklaces too because you could hand 'em out and it was like Mardi Gras on the playground! :)

Fun Dip! I always preferred the name "Lik-M-Aid", naturally. But I would chase that ice cream man down and make him my bitch for the 3-flavor Fun Dip.

And I think I've just found my new favorite euphemism for sex.

I've got some candy for you, little girl.

Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip is awesome and I loved candy cigs too! Funny because those "cigs" would probably cause all kinds of controversy now!! lol...

fortune gum. You know, in the orange wrappers with the little chinese guy on the front? And you can't find the shit anywhere anymore. I don't even think they make it.

Mmm... Those cinnamon plastic lips. And Quinn's never had Pez? I'm taking my Pez Collection over and show him the way! And you should've seen Chitlin's first time with Pop Rocks, she looked like her face was going to explode.

Now I'm all hungry.

I don't know if you mentioned this one - the candy that came on paper - you know, it looked like little pastel buttons on adding machine tape? My grandmother used to always have it for me, my fave :)

When I was in elementary school, we collected Wacky Packages. The gum was crap, like baseball cards, but you got cards/stickers that were funny parodies of popular commercials and products. Like, instead of Crest it would be Crust and they'd show someone with horrible teeth. Bet I should have saved them... We also ate a lot of Bubble Yum, even if it did have spider eggs in it (so the rumor went).

Unless you're from New York City in the 70's you may not remember Big Bol bubble gum. I used to get them from the ice cream truck for two cents each. I also used to spend my change on them at the bodega on the corner. I just did a search on them and it's still available! Ah, memories...

Those big ol caramel suckers. I forget what they were called. Anyone? But they were great. And apple now and later. mmmmmmm...

Aero bars~still my fave!

Oh goodness.... Bullseyes were one of my favourites. (And still are, if they aren't hard and nasty).... Hard lemondrops (not the ones with the waxy sour outer shell)....Dino-Sour Eggs were a favourite during my Willy Wonka pre-adolescence....Marathon bars (I comfort myself now with Curly Wurlies).....Those horrible wax bottles with the syrup in them. They were awful, but they had their moments....Funny that you posted this, since I'm just now reading Candy and Me

Lik-m-Aid, candy cigarettes (but only the ones that actually 'smoked'), ring pops.. but my favorites were Zero bars. They still make them, but I am unfortunately a grown up and can no longer stomach their sugary goodness.
