They had style - they had grace
Now this could be something... Gwen Stefani is about to sign on to play silver screen starlet Jean Harlow in Martin Scorsese's "Aviator" about the life of Howard Hughes. Leonardo DiCaprio will star as Hughes. Cate Blanchett is in talks to play Katharine Hepburn, and Kate Beckinsale as Ava Gardner. It should be interesting to watch this one unfold.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

What I wouldn't pay to see Leo walking around with foot long fingernails/toenails, kleenex boxes on his feet in his hermetically-sealed bubble ... yeah, say I think I'll build a wooden plane ...

Heh -- Todd and I were just joking about the freaky-ass nails and Kleenex boxes!

Odd fact no one really knows about Howard Hughes (that I hope I'm remembering correctly). He was in Managua, Nicaragua in 1972 when the big earthquake hit, getting ready to donate a huge amount of cash. The earthquake hit, he got scared out of his mind (understandably so, since it leveled most of the city, and he pretty much escaped within an inch of his life), rushed to the airport (within hours) and never looked back. If he had stayed and donated the money, it could have been used for relief efforts. Instead, he ran away.

There's your trivia for the wee hours of the morning.

Gwen. mrrrowwwrrr...
She's always had that "Silver Screen-esque" look. I can't believe it's taken Hollywood this long to look past her navel and finally notice.

Retards.

I am lukewarm on Kate Beskinsale. She's not very screen siren-y to me.

Am I the only one with a "Leo" problem? Ever since "Romeo and Juliet," I'm just not impressed. Granted, I've never seen "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," but that was years ago. What's he done for me lately? Not much. Even in "Gangs of NY," I just thought he was acceptable, not phenomenal.

We debated Leo in the role, too -- but he does have that "old Hollywood" look about him. Very few actors today do...
