I said it again, but could I please rephrase it
Ok, I need a moment here... Duran Duran is back together and will be touring the U.S. soon. ALL of Duran Duran. Not those bastardized versions from the early 90s. I'm talkin' Simon LeBon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Andy Taylor together on the very same stage.

To this day I'm traumatized that when I was 11, my best friend's mom got a huge block of tickets to a show for her birthday -- and my mom wouldn't let me go because she said I was too young to attend a concert, even with parental supervision. To make matters worse, one of the girls in the group caught Roger Taylor's towel. Granted, my crush was on Nick and Simon -- but still!

I'll be back later. I have some vinyl to dust off...

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

oh my gawd. all of the them together??? i may faint. john was my fave. *sigh drool* now i'm gonna have to go dig out my cassettes and play girls on film....lol

I've got "Union of the Snake" BLARING right now! All of 'em, baby!

ooh Rob...
Union is one of my faves.

And Nick and Simon were my crushes as well.
*sigh*

Someone save me. Holy Crap. If they come here..we HAVE TO GO!

Wow...Roger...man I was pissed when he left. PISSED. Nothing like a scorned 12 year old girl!!

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one geeking on this :) I got lucky enough to see John on a solo run at a small club here in Atlanta...yep...still a hottie and sweet as can be

You, too? I gave like 2/3 of my collection of records, tapes and posters away to a girl down the street when they broke up. I was so mad -- and I had TONS of stuff. I could be rich off all that today! I get sick thinking about it. But I was SOOOOOOOOO pissed at them. :-) Ahhhhh...childhood.

We are SO going together. With tacky 80s airbrushed t-shirts and everything!

and the memories flood me of laying on my bed dreaming of the day I could get kissed by the taylor boys
and who says you can't go back in time :)

Chey, I was dorky enough to actually send them photos of myself -- hoping one of them would fall in love with me. I was...oh, like 11 or 12. I bet we could get that kiss now, though!

If they hit Atlanta, I'll provide floor space for couches for anyone that shows up :) (my husband is going to kill me heh)

OMG.....Love Duran Duran...especially John...*swoon*

I saw them in DC back in 1984. Seven and the Ragged Tiger tour. Nosebleed seats, but I was in heaven.

I've been waiting for this since last year when they announced that they had gotten back together. I saw them at the USF Sun Dome for their "Big Thing" tour in '89, when it was Nick, Simon and John, saw John solo in '98, then saw Simon and Nick in their DD incarnation in '93, but never all five at once!!!!

I am as happy as a little girl!!!! [/Dieter voice]

Kymberlie & I went to see the "new" Duran Duran at the rodeo two years ago. Simon and Nick were there, and Simon was wearing a white pantsuit that he had NO business in. It was like watching Elvis during his downfall.

They didn't play "Hungry Like a Wolf" either, and I never could figure out why. Maybe a copyright issue? Someone else holds the rights now? I don't know. It was still a blast to see them, even without all of the members there!

Oh, Happy Day! I went to a Duran Duran concert in the 7th grade. I got 15 feet from the stage and thought I would die! We followed their limo around town after the concert. My friend Brian's mom wore leather pants and was SO cool (to a 12 year-old) - she drove us after that limo for an hour.

My first concert ever was a Duran Duran show. I was...um...13?

I saw them again about 3 years ago at HOB and Nick Rhodes had this HUUUUGE beer gut. It was Homer Simpson-esque. I laughed.

John was my favorite as Nick seemed too pretty for me... John's chiseled chin grabbed my attention and kept it for several years during the early-mid 80s. My mother wouldn't let me go to a Duran Duran concert, either, even though I had a reliable friend as company. I was so obsessed that I made a pilgrimage to Birmingham at fifteen (we lived overseas at the time) and I'd plastered my walls and ceiling with posters. I'm almost embarassed to say that I also had a Duran Duran binder full of page-protected magazine articles.

God, I was such a teeny-bopper! Thanks for the memories. :)

Hello from England!

I loved Duran Durans music!

My sister did make me laugh, she was amazed at how three members of a band all had the same surname, Taylor, "What ARE the odds of THAT happening!" she said at the time...

I didn't want to break her heart by telling her that they were all related, so I just said "it's a million to one!".

Dannyboy.

But the Taylors -- all three -- aren't related!

i saw them in anaheim when i was in 8th grade - my friend sandra got us seventh row seats, and i almost lost my mind. roger taylor was wearing white pants, and when he stood up at the end, they were almost totally see-thru. totally traumatic to a 13-year-old uberfan. i was in love with nick rhodes, but i look back now and wonder... why?

i did think that roger and andy were related. brothers or cousins or something.

and i still crack up whenever i see barbarella. and not just because of her furry tail.

I am so there!
