Posted: 05.19.2003 Psychic or psychotic...your call...
You probably know by now that every index page on my server was pretty much hacked last night -- Blogomania and Hosting Matters clients alike. Thank god they just overwrote index.html pages and didn't delete files. But if you were putting off taking this advice -- do it. It might be you the next time...
 The backups through cPanel are an amazing & wonderful thing - and really fast to put back in to place for people. I always recommend those - in addition to MT exports - because it's so fast to get everything back in to place that way. Today I'm thankful for daily, weekly and monthly backups. Random defacements by script kiddies are something completely different. Real crackers wouldn't bother with pathetic defacements, no matter how many were available to do on a particular server.
