18 and life to go

Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland has been named as the new vocalist for the band featuring former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.

The rocker has already worked with the Project on upcoming tracks for movies "The Hulk" and "The Italian Job" and now he has beaten out former Skid Row star Sebastian Bach to become the group's permanent frontman.

He says, "I'm in the band. We signed the contract." [link]

I guess maybe someone should update their Dead Pool guesses with that lethal combo -- can you imagine Weiland, Slash and Duff on the same tour! And what an accomplishment beating out Sebastian Bach for anything in 2003 must be...

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Gosh no matter how many times I read that it still doesn't sound like a very good idea. But I then, you never know, don't kill me if in a year I am loving this band.

It's like something you see in the fashion pages and go "how hideous is that?" but three months later you see a knockoff and think "hey, that's kind of cute..." Maybe they'll be kind of cute...maybe not.

Anyway, Robyn, I love your blog and visit relatively often, so I added you as a link on mine blog. (I haven't signed up for blogrolling so I just slapped ya on there...hope it's cool wit you.)

I am just glad to see Slash doing something. Anything. So much talent wasted for so many years while he floundered about without a real band. The guitar work on his Snakepit projects was great, but he would have been better off doing instumentals.

C'MON....when will these idiots get over their egos and just reunite as G-n-R with Axl and all. The new G-n-R is just sad and we really need this band.

But then again they would probably do something stupid like Metallica is and try to bring in younger fans by going on tour with younger bands.

Axl sucks. sucks. sucks sucks sucks. Used to be good. Now he is just as weird as Michael Jackson. Only difference, I still love Michael Jackson.

I just hope Izzy Stradlin takes more of a lead this time around. The Ju Ju Hound LP's put anything Axl has done to shame.

Izzy isn't part of the band, as far as I can tell. Just Slash, Duff, and Matt. Oh, and that washed-up junkie from STP, whatever his name is.

Yeah, he's like, creepier than Clay on Idol.

Why did Michael Jackson go to JC Penney? He saw in the paper that little boy's pants were half off.
