Is it really worth wasting your time to launch an all-out boycott of FOX and all of the merchants that sponsor "Mr. Personality"? I realize Monica Lewinsky will probably go down (ok, bad choice of words there) as one of the most controversial women of the late 20th century. But it wasn't like she wanted her Oval Office, errrr, meetings made public initially. And god forbid we all be held accountable for the questionable blowjobs* we gave in our early 20s. I'd dare say 3/4 of the women in this country would be boycotted if that were the case.

Yeah, she's milked (oops, bad choice of words there as well) that 15 minutes of fame for all it's worth since her little blue dress got Tripped up. Like that's considered shocking in this day and age. And since when is it anything new in this country to parade around women embroiled in sexual controversy for the almighty dollar? No Excuses jeans campaigns, anyone? I just wish people would devote all of that time and energy to real causes that will change the planet. Not yesterday's news...    UPDATE: *See clarification for Dave here.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

That would mean people would have to think, Robyn. You ask so much of people. God. Really.

"I just wish people would devote all of that time and energy to real causes that will change the planet" -- Amen :-)

If there's going to be a boycott, it should have nothing to do with blowjobs. You could make a case for boycotting Fox for subjecting us to such an unbelievably crappy show. I guess they make up for it with the Simpsons.

If we're going to boycott networks and sponsors based on the behaviour of the people on their shows (stupid idea, but let's pretend), it'd make more sense to target all the tv personalities who have been busted driving under the influence of alchohol or drugs-- that's a crime and it can kill people. Or maybe we should boycott all the networks that carry the NBA-- a lot of those thugs have done things far worse than Ms. Lewinski did.

*what exactly is a "questionable blowjob" anyway? is that one that involves teeth? owie. :)

Ummmm...ow. Not blowjobs themselves being questionable. The recipients of said-blowjobs (and the timing/place of them) being questionable, silly.

And very good point. As Mikey has already mentioned this week, R. Kelly has the #3 album in the nation. I'd much rather spend my time boycotting corporations that support and advertise on the behalf of a pedophile than someone who just made sure the President had a smile on his face.

Maybe if the protesters were getting blown, they'd be too mellow to care about protesting in the first place...

all this over a few ropy jets of jism flying across the Oval Office... I mean, REALLY! Damn... shouldn't we have been a little more concerned about his politics than who was blowing him? God knows if I was married to that thing he calls a wife, I wouldn't want HER taking care of it.....

No need to boycott the entire network. Just don't watch the show... when they realize that there's no viewers, they'll cancel the pile of turd. Oh wait... Survivor is still on, isn't it... among the many other pieces of mindless blather they force feed the viewing public constantly... people wonder why I refuse to pay for cable and watch about 3 hours of TV a week....

I think you already said this, but her 15 minutes are WELL up... time to pull the plug!

Monicagate was 5 years ago. I'm sure she's learned her lesson from it. People need to move on. She has. Besides, back then the point wasn't so much about the job itself but lying under oath.

I'm not going to watch this show but I rather watch Monica on TV than O.J. Simpson. He's getting his own reality show. *rolls eyes* Where's the outrage in that?

Wow. I can't believe Monica still generates that much hate. I bet most of the people judging her are women.

Ok, so OJ is NOT doing a reality show. Seems that was a rumor. However, he wants a Blake trial commentator. *snickers*

I had a good response to this, but I was laughing so hard halfway through the comments that I've completely forgotten. Thanks! ;)

So....aaaahhhhh.... Robyn, do you have a navy blue dress??? ;)

I seem to say this all too often when her name is brought up, but I don't have anything against her. Never have. Never will, most likely. Sex is just sex. Whomever you decide to fondle is your decision, and many, MANY people conveniently forgot this in the midst of the 'scandal'. The show's concept is stupid, but who can blame her for trying to show that she's human? Everyone deserves a second chance, I suppose.

I miss the administration that most we had to worry about were wet cigars and spotted dresses.
