Surprise and marvel
I swear to all that's holy...if I hear the words "shock and awe" one more time tonight... Here, please allow me to help. There are other words in the English language. Seriously.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

"concussion and amazement" just doesn't have the same impact as chocanaw.

Chakakhan, Chakakhan, everybody Chakakhan...

yeah...it's getting almost annoying as Al Gore and his god-forsaken "social security lockbox" back in 99

ok, theresa, but only if those weapons of mass destruction include NU-Q-LER weapons. :)

I thought the same thing - except that it sounds like the phrase John Lovitz expels at the end of his song in "The Wedding Singer"

Or at least that's what the voices in my head said in my blog...

It's supposed to allude to the Nazi "Blitzkrieg."

I think we have the makings of a drinking game here along with the phrase "target of opportunity". I didn't want this war, but now that it's started I'm very interested in watching it's outcome. I really enjoyed watching Iraqi men cheer soldiers and pull down posters of Saddam. My fear has been that the people of Iraq didn't want to be liberated. I'm glad at least some of them do.

Jessica- Amazing. I had the drinking game idea too.

As it's 4:30am and my 6-month old offspring is determined that I shall sleep no more this night, I'm creating the aforementioned drinking game here.

*apologies in advance to anyone who finds this slightly irreverent or disrespectful. as a veteran and a patriot, i can assure you no one takes this war more seriously than i do. still, sometimes you've got to laugh a little to keep your sanity.

So is it too early to start playing?

yep, it is getting pretty awful. we need some new vocabulary. although somehow silence would be be perhaps more appropriate.

Hey, if spammers can use it, so can the gov't.

I clicked on the link for "shock" and selected the noun "blow".

Additionally I clicked on the link for "awe" and selected the noun "amaze".

I'm not trying to go for the cheap innuendo here, but I'd rather hear Tom Brokaw holler at "shock and awe" while I sleep through the repetitions commentary from embedded jounalists with video phones. The alternative would be to hear the subliminal "blow and amaze" during rem state and have that ruin the already tainted dreams of my wooly friends.
