It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

[Old Guard at Arlington]

[Burial at Arlington]

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we
should thank God that such men lived."

- General George S. Patton

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Wow...beautiful Robyn. Especially the quote from Patton.

Is it wrong to cry about all of this death, when you don't even know the people's names that are dying? I just know how I would feel if it were my husband in that box, and it breaks my heart in two.

I pray this war is over quickly.

After what we've seen today, I'd say it will be over fairly quickly. My concern is that there are going to be a lot more casualties in the coming months, trying to maintain order while a new government is established, than in the actual war. It's going to be a very dangerous time to be in Iraq.

As we mourn our fallen own soldiers, let's not forget to pray for the Iraqi soldiers who died-- their military isn't voluntary like ours, and the majority probably didnt want to be there. They have parents and spouses and children who will be devastated by their passing too. And most of all, let's remember the innocent civilians who will die, and hope their number is very small.

Don't get me wrong-- I still believe we have done the right thing and that the world will be a better place for it. That doesn't mean my heart doesn't hurt for people too.

Sorry Robyn, taking over your comments for a second to respond to Dave.

Thank you for your words Dave, especially these."As we mourn our fallen own soldiers, let's not forget to pray for the Iraqi soldiers who died-- their military isn't voluntary like ours, and the majority probably didnt want to be there. They have parents and spouses and children who will be devastated by their passing too. "

*tears in eyes*
Hoping that this will all end soon, so that fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters from all walks and faith can go back home, safe and sound to the falmilies that love them and are holding them in their thoughts.

In case anyone is interested, here is the most current list of our fallen service men and women in Iraq. Say a little pray for those they left behind.
