The feeling to know you're alive...

[mr. rogers] Further solidifying the fact this has been one of the worst months...ever...it's now being reported that Mr. Rogers has passed away of cancer at the age of 74. This kills me. I adored Mr. Rogers as a child. So much so, that my mom actually limited me to one airing of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood a day when I turned 5, because I planned my whole day around the show and the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. I don't even want to think of our kids growing up without him around. It just doesn't seem fair.

I'll be back when the day is new. And I'll have more ideas for you. And you'll have things you'll want to talk about. I. Will. Too.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

you know, i was sitting here feeling so strange because i'm crying. i just found out Mister Rogers died and it really hit me hard, because it was one of my favorite shows too. i blogged about it and decided to check some of my reads... yours is the first one i read and it was like, wow, okay, i'm not alone here. :) so thank you.

Damn;

As I am with all that had grown up with Mr. Rogers I am saddened by his passing as well. It will not be the same without him as my son grows. Maybe they will have a DVD like the one I got for School House Rock.

Maybe H.R. Puff-n-Stuff too. RomperRoom Captain Kangaroo, 3-2-1 Contact, Electric Company, and all the others that I remember while growning up.

I heard this morning that the beloved Mister Rogers had passed away...such a great man. So many emotions flooding right now - I can remember watching him as a kid. All the songs, such a sad sad day.

I comforting to know I'm not the only person shedding tears for Mr. Rogers. Michele at Small Victory is right... this month does such.

This is the straw that broke the camels back. Now, after everything this month, I am finally crying.

I used to love watching his show - I actually have one of his toy trolly cars on a shelf.

I loved Mr. Rogers, it's where I learned how crayons were made... plus he's 9 years younger than my gram and I don't like that feeling at all. :(

That's horrible news! Did anyone even know that he was sick?

Picture, Picture was always my favorite part. Seeing the insides of factories, how stuff was made. I'll always remember that, especially the crayons one!

This hit me really hard,as well as my kids.I remember when I was little,I remember sitting sitting so close to the tv when he was on.I would be so amazed by King Henry and his castle.I so wanted to go in that castle like the others did.

I will truly miss that wonderful man....

I just stumbled on your site and I must say I do enjoy it. You have the same humor as this broad I used to bang a while back. She used to make me laugh so fucking hard. Keep up the good work!

I just read about it on Tracy's site. I am so sad-I grew up watching him. I will say it again.
It is a sad day in the neighborhood.

The neighborhood will never be the same. Hopefully our kids wont miss out on Mr Rogers thanks to the magic of video tape and reruns. I'm just mad I never got to find out where that damn trolly went! =]
