Step right up and get your ticket

Grandma: You know, when I was nineteen, Grandpa took me on a roller coaster.
Gil: Oh?
Grandma: Up, down, up, down. Oh, what a ride!
Gil: What a great story.....
Grandma: I always wanted to go again. You know, it was just so interesting to me that a ride could make me feel so frightened, so sick, so excited, so scared, so safe, and so thrilled, altogether! Some didn't like it. They wanted to go on the merry-go-round. That just goes around. Nothing. I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it.

I was reminded of the above after reading this entry.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Wow. My first-ever TrackBack ping. And it's from you. And it's from that entry. Whew. It doesn't look like you were offended, which is good, and I think your observation is an apt one.

Thank you ever so much.

Not offended at all -- I was very touched. Thank you!

Ah, now (post-R'ing TFM) I think I understand the whole TrackBack thing, and I can do this correctly from now on. Moving right along...

I'm so glad you're still blogging. Thanks for the pointer to that entry, too. I cried too, and still find myself on the brink of tears when I think of you. I'm touched also when I see the picture of the angels in your header. I ... don't know what else to say.

I love that quote also...along with the "I'm Shrinking!" "Bummer!!" part.I think it's time to buy that movie..classic

Definitely one of the best quotes from the movie. I remember watching it the first time and almost crying as she said that. It's most certainly true.

I love that movie and that quote brings me to tears every time I hear it. It's hard to remember that during the rough times, at least it is for me. I'll always prefer the roller coaster over the merry go round. It's the only way to live life.

Roller coasters are the way to go. I get bored and angry when I go around in circles constantly a`la the merry-go-round. It's a great quote.

It is one of the best quotes... made even better that the second after Grandma said that she wandered outside and sat in the neighbor's car!
