The color of the sky as far as I can see is coal grey
This is what our yard, and every other yard in our neighborhood, looks like right now. The yard we spent several hundred dollars reseeding last spring. I haven't seen grass this dead since we lived in Oklahoma. We've been here over six years. Half of the trees around have either lost their leaves, had them turn colors, or are already dead. The palm trees around here are all turning yellow. The remaining trees are tall pines. We had almost two full weeks of hard-freezes, and several weeks in the 30s or below. This is just not the eternal-spring in Florida that I'm used to. Our power bill was over three times the price this January compared to last. I know the groundhog saw his shadow, but please keep that stuff up north where it belongs. Pretty please with chocolate cocoa on top! I miss my open windows...

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Um, I think they're having a blizzard up north right now. So, I think you're about to get beat up for whining about this. ;p

oh girl you ain't lying!!!! 3 mornings in a row driving past the temp sign that says 34 degrees in CA is just wrong!

Don't worry...it's probably not dead, just dormant. Once you go back to your nice, normal, Florida weather, it'll all come back. (And the rest of us will probably STILL be freezing our asses off.)

I went through 72" of snow from October '95 - March '96. I had to dig my Neon out of 5' snowdrifts with my hands after they'd plow my apartment complex. I survived the Blizzard of '96 -- over 48" in my neighborhood in less than 36 hours. I paid my dues. I want Florida sunshine! :-)

It's unusually cold here in Arizona, but we still got grass!

Feel free to cut and paste to your yard.

Yeah,we live down by MacDill...I gave up on our lawn until March. Lousy day.

I'm gonna save the link to this post. You'll see it again about August 1st or so when you grass is just as dead from being burnt up.

Our grass never got burnt up last year -- it was green all year round. The August before that, too. We're in the peak rainy season during August -- very tropical and lush at that time of year!

no way man, you left after the blizzard, your dues bill is now overdue. :oP

Oh my goodness, green grass in the winter?? Trees that have leaves all year?? *gasps* I think our grass has never, EVER been as green as your grass is in january. :)

I am really confused and do not know what is going on with this post, but the sun is out and I can see clouds.

I'm in Tampa Bay, and we definitely did not have sun here today... :-) And right now, it's dark.

Hehe, I'm honestly jealous! ;) At least you guys have grass ... my yard is just an evil collection of roots, dirt, dog crap, holes, and just enough grass that it has to be mowed once a week in warm weather. Is it wrong that I'm leaning toward paving the whole thing? ;)

It will all grow back before you know it.

It looks like bermuda, which goes dormant in winter. It'll be green again come March/April.

In Minnesota the grass sits under several feet of snow and ice from November till March. I promise, your grass is still alive. It will turn green again after a couple weeks of warm weather.
