Spell chrysanthemum
Today's "Call For Help" had a good free-file download -- ieSpell.

Download and install ieSpell and you can check your Web work in three different ways:

1. Select a word and right-click.
2. Click on the IE button in the toolbar.
3. Choose tools and select ieSpell or ieSpell Options.

IeSpell is accurate, fast, and free. Only for Windows and Internet Explorer.
I'm getting ready to download and test it out myself.

From the official site: ieSpell is a free Internet Explorer browser extension that spell checks text input boxes on a webpage. It should come in particularly handy for users who do a lot of web-based text entry (e.g. web mails, forums, blogs, diaries). Even if your web application already includes spell checking functionality, you might still want to install this utility because it is definitely much faster than a server-side solution. Plus you get to store and use your personal word list across all your applications, instead of maintaining separate ones on each application.

The program installs as a new button in the IE toolbar (as well as a new menu item under "Tools") - after filling in a form, just hit the ieSpell button and it pops up a dialog, similar to the MS Word spell check.

ieSpell is not spyware or adware. Its free for personal and not-for-profit use. Commercial use requires a separate license. Write to us for more info.

UPDATE: It's all installed -- I've tried (and love) it! Two big snaps in a circle for this review.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

"Spell... chrysanthemum". man, i love that commercial... that dejected look when he's sittin in the corner is just classic.

as for spell check? call me a snob, but i think that spell check is for wimps!

One of the most useful of my of my 'tool' finds. It's kept me from looking like an idiot many times... well kept my spelling from making me look like an idiot at least. It's a must for the MT people out there.

Was today a rerun? I downloaded ieSpell some time ago and have been using it religiously on all of my machines ever since. Comes in handy everywhere!

It very well may have been Michael. Now that they rerun it at 9 a.m. and air it sometimes before I'm up for the day, I don't always catch the show -- and it's killing me! I want it back live at 5...

Since this only works with MS Internet Exploder, I guess us poor Mozilla users will have to use the add-in MozBlog tool and post directly from our browsers.

Maybe you can check out w.bloggar v3.00 and use it's built-in spell checker; it is a very clean interface to post to pretty much any blog software.

I have to use IE at work and know many of the holes and refuse to use it at home. I won't use something that's catch phrase is "Security through obscurity."

I'm watching that episode on TiVo right now. Hey, do you still need the audio file of when Chris mentioned you on the air last week?

I have been using it for a long time, and it's a nifty little icon that sits in the toolbar. But it doesn't help me with my grammar mistakes. It is a must have tool for any computer in my opinion.
