Posted: 12.06.2002 Let's get physical
Oh you mean you really do have to exercise and eat a healthy diet? You can't down two teaspoons of Body Solutions, go to bed, and watch the pounds melt away? I'm shocked. No. Really...
Americans are so freakin' gullible when it comes to weight loss schemes. Myself included. The other day Yvonne and I compared our past stupid exercize equipment purchases. Mine was the body exer-slide just before our wedding, where you put on the little booties and slide back and forth on a mat, almost like ice skating. Yeah, that lasted about two afternoons. It was much easier to just walk. At least in the new "thug workout video", they're keepin' it real. So what's the most ridiculous weight loss method or equipment you've ever tried / purchased? I have an Exerslide! I loved that thing and actually used it pretty often. My mom used to always buy the ThighMasters and the Ass Masters (or whatever they are called) Squeeeeeeeze your way to a better looking ass! We just got a Gazelle Freestyle, and it's actually pretty awesome :-) ¤ ¤ credit: Zoe | 12.06.02 at 02:11 AM | link-Maybe I should just blame hating that on my long legs? Grace, I was not... ;-) ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 12.06.02 at 02:23 AM | link-Xenadrine. You know, that [horribly bad for your body] diet pill. It was the first and only time I have ever tried a quick-results weight loss *anything*. One week of palsy-esque shakes from the uppers in that stuff and I was never going back! ¤ ¤ credit: Susan | 12.06.02 at 03:26 AM | link-Sadly, my sister is undergoing gastric bypass on Wednesday. I think that is the worst weight loss plan. ¤ ¤ credit: Groovy Robin | 12.06.02 at 04:13 AM | link-the body blade!! i have to take a picture of me using it so you can understand how stupid and useless it really is. oh, the thug workout video will be mine!!! ¤ ¤ credit: yvonne | 12.06.02 at 09:20 AM | link-I've tried all the pills and the only thing that really worked was weight watchers and exercise. So I'm back at the exercise, but not the WW. However, slowly the pounds are coming off. I've never bought exercise equipment, but I could have paid off a few bills with the $ spent on Metabolife. ¤ ¤ credit: sandy | 12.06.02 at 09:35 AM | link-I had one of those slidey things too! I thought that I was just too short to use it (had to really slide hard to get to the other side, and then would just about fall over from the impact of hitting the other side) I thought that if my legs were longer, I'd have no problem with it. *sigh* The Atkins diet worked wonders for me. ¤ ¤ credit: Shelby :) | 12.06.02 at 04:13 PM | link-No personal experience, but I have a friend that has a veritable museum of the stuff. Thighmasters, exerslides, the wheel-roller thing, the mini-trampoline, the giant ball, the rower, the bicycle stand thing, the rubber bands, the step, the ab-cruncher rocker thing, etc. etc. not to mention over 80 exercise videos. Personally, I'm the kitchen gadget freak. Anybody else own an in-the-shell egg scrambler? ¤ ¤ credit: wendell | 12.06.02 at 05:57 PM | link-Oh god. *blush* I have a thigh master. And a step aerobics step. And we have one of those balls. And I have tried Metabolite. (doesn't work) I bought a bowflex, and started walking and eating better, and now, I am finally getting in shape again. The gimmicks don't work. ¤ ¤ credit: missy | 12.08.02 at 01:30 AM | link-It has to be those Cher green elastic band things, they are so dangerous. I stopped using them when I slapped myself in the face one to many times.
