Posted: 11.22.2002 I count your eyelashes, secretly
Normally I don't share our private, mushy notes to each other -- but here's one I recently got from my husband when he was at work, and I want it saved for all-time. As the 30th birthday countdown continues to tick off at a rapid pace, it's nice to remember the good things about life. I feel...very loved and secure right now. I can more than handle getting older as such.
"Can we start the day over? To the part where I'm kissing you goodbye, and you don't wake up really, but your cute little nose scrunches up and you kind of brush at your face like a bug is buzzing you? To the part where all I want to do is crawl right back into bed next to you when I smell you. To the part where I reach out at night to feel if you are still there, and gently rub your back or your tummy, just because it makes me feel good to know that you are close. Can we start over there? 'Cause here isn't where I want to be. I love you." Amen it's finally the weekend and snuggle time. For some reason, it just couldn't get here fast enough this week!
