I need you tonight...'cuz I'm not sleeping

Words cannot express how upset I get at times knowing Michael Hutchence's voice will never be heard again. I vary between angry and sad and angry all over again. But no... The world is stuck with fucking Bob Geldoff instead.

What I wouldn't give to hear just one new more song...

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

You know there is one don't you? On their latest compilation album there's a new one, but personally I think it's pretty damn ordinary compared to some of their great stuff. I can send you the MP3 if you can't find it.

I know you're a big fan so I won't hassle the poor guy too much! but most of their later stuff was crap too. Early on, they were pure genius and I have their first few albums in vinyl in my 'record collection'. It's so sad that someone so loved and talented (even if his antics annoyed me) had to perform a weird sex act in a 5 star hotel and accidentally kill himself.

I'll never understand why people with a beautiful talent, such as music or art, destroy themselves.

...and I just wanted to say Hi:-) Love your blog and hope you don't mind that I added you to my linkies:-)

Take care

Yeah, I've heard that one Jessica -- it's the "real" new stuff I long for. Not the stuff that wasn't good enough to make it as a track on anything else (or the unfinished work like they brought Bono in on) coming out now. :-\

By the way, on his tribute site (by family) it wasn't a weird sex act -- it was really a suicide attempt. He had a fight with Bob Geldoff and Paula Yates about his daughter the night he died, and wasn't doing well on the anti-depressants he'd been on at all. They were threatening never to let him see his daughter again in the phone conversations...and well...

I actually liked some of the last few albums though (like "Welcome to Wherever You Are" and "Elegantly Wasted"). It wasn't as good as the work on "The Swing", "Listen Like Thieves", or "Kick" -- but it's still a lot better than 99% of the new crap out today, IMHO.

I loved their early work - I have "The Swing", "Kick" and I think "Listen Like Thieves". Ahhhh, the memories.

What's the URL for the family tribute site? I don't think I've seen that one. Was he still with Paula when it happened? I don't remember. I just remember the band were getting ready to tour Australia and release new music and it never happened.

Here's the site -- it's for a book written by his sister. They have a page addressing the rumors and a good FAQ there.

OMG!! I had a dream about finding an INXS CD last night. I know how you feel...each time I see him, I'm just crushed knowing that I'll never see him in concert again, never see that hair sway, the hips sway...*swooooon*

i have no intention of fucking bob geldoff.

and thank you for the link - i really appreciate it (and i'm surprised - i thought you'd be busy saying 'look! when i unlock the driver's side, they ALL open!'
