The freshest you've got - this year!
Just spotted over at Meryl's...freshblogs.com. "Unlike other programs, it doesn't rely a timed list like weblogs.com. If you don't do weblog rounds for a week, you can still see what's been updated since your last round of reading. Move the mousepointer over any blog in the list and it'll give you the date and time it was last updated."

Straight from the freshblogs.com website: "Freshblogs enables web users to track new content on their favorite weblogs. Your published watchlist displays the most recently updated sites at the top. As time passes, weblogs that are updated less frequently will drop in 'freshness' and disappear from the list."

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

That is the coolest thing ever!

Damnit, now I gotta do more work. I originally was going for a list like that back when blogrolling was storing the url's for every blog it could spider on the net but it's easier and more cost efficient to use the weblogs feed. I store timestamps for all blog updates though so... ok, monkey is rambling. Blah. Why do people have to keep coming up with new ideas? Screws up my weekends...

Ruh ro raggy! ;-) If all else fails...drink heavily... You won't notice as much! That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Good gawd, my freshlog is now three pages long just when I finally broke the blogging habit. Dammit!

Of course, http://blo.gs/ has been doing this sort of thing for months, all based on weblogs.com. It also has its own XML-RPC/SOAP update interface, some neat features to help you find related weblogs (based on other people's lists) and a funky-looking sidebar.

But I'm sure you all knew that :)

Actually I didn't know about that Lionfire -- thanks so much for the tip/link!

ooo. the dfw site has had something like that for ages, where the most recent update was at the top, and you slipped down the list and eventually fell off after a certain number of hours. i was jealous and longed to steal it but was way too lazy, so i just used it to keep track of my texan reads. this could tear me away from my geekly mt mods...
