Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

You and me against the world,
Sometimes it seems like you and me against the world,
When all the others turn their backs and walked away,
You can count on me to stay.

Remember when the circus came to town
How you were frightened by the clown,
Wasn't it nice to be around someone that you knew,
Someone who was big and strong and looking out for...

You and me against the world,
Sometimes it seems like you and me against the world
And for all the times we've cried
I always felt that God was on our side.

And when one of us is gone,
And one of us is left to carry on,
Then remembering will have to do,
Our memories alone will get us through
Think about the days of me and you,
Of you and me against the world.

I knew my mom wouldn't see this over the weekend, so I wanted to wish her a Happy Mother's Day here today. She used to sing this song to me when I was little -- it literally was just "mom and me against the world" for three years of my life. And those are some of the happiest memories I have. I love you, mom.

Postscript: To this day I am still frightened by clowns. Maybe this song had a bigger impact on me than I realized...

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

Hey, you're making me cry at work, no fair. Thanks. I love you too. I also remember very fondly the song you sent me from college, by Bette Midler. Remember? I still tear up when I hear it.

Very nice.

I didn't think I was scared of clowns until I went to a small restaurant with my parents not too far from where they live. The owner is really into clowns. There are pictures of clowns, clown clocks, clown dolls, etc. all over his restaurant. It was downright creepy. I swear one of the dolls looked *just* like the clown from the movie Poltergeist.

"You and Me Against the World" by Helen Reddy.

Pretty song, and you are a sweet daughter, Robyn.

I'm so glad I can live near my Mom.

I've always felt the anger and hostility coming from most clowns, stemming from being under appreciated, and usually a very sad drunk behind all that make-up and forced happy faces.

Clowns are the anti-christ. Did I ever tell you that I live near a Clown College? My boyz hang out down there and throw rocks at them. LMAO!

Great tribute to your mother :) {{HUGS}}
