Ok...intro to Slambooks 101.

Take the image I have. Next increase the height. Put your blog name, URL, and any identifying graphic you want below my graphic with the instructions. Then save it. Upload it. And go tag someone else. So the image you tag the next blog with (if there's only my image above you to start) will have 2 links -- mine and yours. Your tagline and/or "graphic" will be the lure to get someone else to your site from someone else's comments as the "tag" spreads on. Then when that person tags someone else, they will keep the two above them -- plus theirs -- and the next blog they tag will have 3. They're going to split out in all sorts of places in all different directions (because the blogs you read may not be the blogs I read and so on and so on) and that way your URL is hitting other comments you might otherwise never have hit yourself. But don't keep tagging someone or it becomes pointless -- as then it's "spam". Here's an example if you're still lost! Anyone's welcome to start their own (although a link to me as the originator would be very much appreciated), and thanks for asking!

You got it Kevin! But since they'll be splitting off in so many different ways, hopefully they won't get TOO huge or you'll have to trim 'em down I would imagine... It's just a way to get exposure your site might otherwise not get on other blogs you've never even visited via someone else's "tag" heading off in a different direction after you pass it on -- with your image being up above theirs.

Actually - Kevin's comment was part of what I was trying to ask too. If I start one and spread it along with your image, soulsink, and then mine - but others leave theirs behind in my comments, do I add them on to the one I was just out passing around?

Totally up to you Christine. I honestly never expected they would keep piling up if others saw you had a bunch already. And I didn't really want to make a lot of "rules" and set a lot of stipulations. Rules = no fun! I don't want people to stress over it either. If you're stressing, it's not aiming at what I was intending. Just pass it on if you get tagged...other people will see your blog after you do...and all will be coo'. If you're constantly going back to update an image, it ends up more trouble than it's worth, IMHO. But that's just me. I only intend to update the ones I'm tagged with -- not ones I've already passed on. At that point, they are out of my hands.

OK this sounds like such a kewl idea and being the one to surely screw it up I wanted to make sure I understand :)
ok I am going to make my own comment tag right with my logo instructions and url right?
Then (if) I get tagged I will add mine to that one?
Or if I tag someone I just leave mine in thier comments
now if I get tagged and I add mine to thiers then I would tag someone with the image that had both on right?
then If I get tagged again at some point I would do it all over again right?

This is a great idea, but I've found that most people have HTML turned off in their comments.

I actually knew how to do it. Todd hit me last night. Good thing, too, because the porn was getting old.
Then I tried to hit C.C. and he didn't have his html set up in his comments, then I hit kd but she doesn't "do" graphics, THEN I went back and hit C.C. this morning since his were on and.....hell....you don't care....this is just an example of what TODD gave me and I gave....an STD if you will....or a CTD...

Ok, so let me get this straight. We will keep passing along all these tags to everyone as sort of advertisments and keep it goin like a train. And if i get tagged in my comments with my tag already on it then i won't put mine on again right. So it'll kind of look like this.....

I tried going out and tagging the world while SnobJumping. I tried five different blogs, and not ONE had HTML allowed in their comments. Neat idea Robyn, but I give up.
