Posted: 04.24.2002 I want to be the girl with the most cake
My iBook is sadly lacking in MP3s, so I spent a great deal of the afternoon building up my "chick rock" selection. Wanna copy of the playlist?
"Veruca Salt" so that's how you spell her name, I have been trying to find MP3's by her for ages upon the suggesion of a friend. Fiona Aple has some great songs, am currently listening to "The way things are." Robyn, have you heard the Poe and Mark Danielewsk version of "Hey Pretty"? ¤ ¤ credit: munin | 04.24.02 at 06:21 PM | link--this ¤ ¤oops... hope you don't mind if I nabbed a few titles of your list. :) ¤ ¤ credit: munin | 04.24.02 at 06:22 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Go right ahead -- that's why they're there! :-) Btw, that's the version of "Hey Pretty" I downloaded! ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.02 at 06:35 PM | link--this ¤ ¤but but but... you're still missing: and just for fun... Lords of Acid - I Sit on Acid (any version) AFI - Cruise Control N-Trance - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy ¤ ¤ credit: mikey | 04.24.02 at 07:21 PM | link--this ¤ ¤ Lords of Acid goes in my "Techno Chick" pile -- this was for "Chick Rock". And boys singing vocals don't get to play on this list... ;-) ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.02 at 07:26 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Oh woo hoo! This is totally the kind of music I've been listening to lately! Hopefully later on when I'm feeling more up to it, I'll make you a list of another few that you might like in the same category! Thanks babe, I'm gonna be going on a downloading spree :giggle: E keeps saying we are gonna get another hard drive just for my mp3s, maybe I'll get enough this time around to convince him of that again :giggle: ¤ ¤ credit: kristine | 04.24.02 at 08:13 PM | link--this ¤ ¤What program are you using for mp3's? Morpheus used to be great, but since the software change, it's tough to find anything just the least bit obscure. ¤ ¤ credit: Visitor | 04.24.02 at 08:25 PM | link--this ¤ ¤I use Limewire and AudioGalaxy. ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.02 at 08:50 PM | link--this ¤ ¤I feel the same way about Morpheus lately - I ended up finding a majority of these mp3s on Audiogalaxy this afternoon - I think there are a few I'll have to search harder for, so I'll try limewire. So robyn, as always, is smart and knows her stuff :giggle: ¤ ¤ credit: kristine | 04.24.02 at 09:48 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Hey Kristine (and everyone else) -- I'd love to add to my stash. If you think of any others that fit in the square peg, please tell me! Thanks! :-) ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.02 at 10:44 PM | link--this ¤ ¤grokster is also pretty good for downloads... I love that version of Hey Pretty :) ¤ ¤ credit: munin | 04.24.02 at 11:13 PM | link--this ¤ ¤I use blubster. Verrry similar to the old Napster. www.blubster.com ¤ ¤ credit: John | 04.24.02 at 11:19 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Good list. Psyched to see several Tori Amost songs on there. Love that woman's music! ¤ ¤ credit: C.C. | 04.24.02 at 11:41 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Thanks for the recs Munin and John! ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.25.02 at 02:06 AM | link--this ¤ ¤Have you ever heard "Jealous" by Sinead O'Connor? It's a little slower, but she gets the point across nonetheless! Also, don't forget about Beth Hart, she f@*!in' rocks! ¤ ¤ credit: Susan | 04.25.02 at 02:31 AM | link--this ¤ ¤Btw, if you have to get just one song off this list....you MUST get "Dangerous Type" by Letters to Cleo. It's off The Craft soundtrack and it kicks serious ass! I think that's probably why Susan ended up with a Neve Campbell skin tonight... ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.25.02 at 02:35 AM | link--this ¤ ¤ well, you didn't mention that it was rock chicas only... ok, here're more suggestions: tori amos - professional widow (armand van helden remix) Mikey dear, you need to spend less time looking at my breasts -- the post said, and I quote, "building up my 'chick rock' selection". Ok, you can look back down now. ;-p ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.26.02 at 01:50 AM | link--this ¤ ¤Ok, so i randomly found your blog, but i must say that i about creamed my pants when i read the above list. Seriously...my boyfriend is actually getting jealous of you, because i cannot stop blabbing about your good musical tastes. Gwen once wore my leather arm cuff at a show (it was thrown up on stage at her) and while i didn't get it back, it still made my month. Ok, so i'm turning into SwinFan here. Just wanted to tell u that, and also mention that "My Forgotten Favorite" by Velocity Girl is a pretty good song, too. ¤ ¤ credit: Tabatha | 10.16.02 at 01:55 AM | link--this ¤ ¤Velocity Girl -- very nice choice! One of my husband's very favorite bands! ¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 10.16.02 at 02:16 AM | link--this ¤ ¤Hey Nice site, although I think I am looking through the archives. Hey where did you find mp3s by Letter to Cleo I been trying to find mp3s by them but I cant seem to find any.If you could tell me it would be so greatly appreciated. cool songs. i like this ones: Poe: Not a virgin, Haunted well these r just a few ¤ ¤ credit: daniela | 12.22.02 at 02:02 AM | link--this ¤ ¤Nice list here are a few of my faves that didn't make your list.... Invade Me Luxx is the band. OK, Its not an all chick band, but the singer is a chick ( Katrina Chester, she actually played Janis on broadway ) and they rock!!! Soul of me is another great song of theirs. Check them out if you havn't already!!! ¤ ¤ credit: buzzingdawn | 09.23.03 at 09:43 PM | link--this ¤ ¤Very excited to see a list with "Here and Now" by Letters to Cleo...also, a recommendation--my favorite songs with a chick singer: "Mass Romantic" by the New Pornographers, and "I'll Wait" and "Monster" by One True Thing ¤ ¤ credit: Dahlia | 10.08.03 at 11:29 AM | link--this ¤ ¤so i was lookin for some cool chick type songs for my girl and whataya know i found this. heres eight songs that i dig. dowmload em i bet you'll like em too. this is in no order mind you. kaitO - shoot shoot thanx! for the great song suggestions, I'm curious bout this type of music, love to rock out! ¤ ¤ credit: Ferg | 12.11.03 at 10:42 PM | link--this ¤ ¤good but you forgot So I'm corny, live with it! Blitzkreig ¤ ¤ credit: Blitzkreig | 01.17.04 at 03:12 PM | link--this ¤ ¤The songs on your list that I recognize are good ones. Allow me to suggest "Barracuda" (I see someone's already mentioned Heart) and "Cherry Bomb," by The Runaways. ¤ ¤ credit: Dave | 02.09.04 at 08:23 PM | link--this ¤ ¤
