Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

"Veruca Salt" so that's how you spell her name, I have been trying to find MP3's by her for ages upon the suggesion of a friend. Fiona Aple has some great songs, am currently listening to "The way things are." Robyn, have you heard the Poe and Mark Danielewsk version of "Hey Pretty"?

oops... hope you don't mind if I nabbed a few titles of your list. :)

¤ ¤ credit: munin | 04.24.02 at 06:22 PM | link--this ¤ ¤

Go right ahead -- that's why they're there! :-) Btw, that's the version of "Hey Pretty" I downloaded!

¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.02 at 06:35 PM | link--this ¤ ¤

but but but... you're still missing:
Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl
Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing

and just for fun...

Lords of Acid - I Sit on Acid (any version)
AFI - Cruise Control
N-Trance - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy

Lords of Acid goes in my "Techno Chick" pile -- this was for "Chick Rock". And boys singing vocals don't get to play on this list... ;-)

Oh woo hoo! This is totally the kind of music I've been listening to lately!

Hopefully later on when I'm feeling more up to it, I'll make you a list of another few that you might like in the same category!

Thanks babe, I'm gonna be going on a downloading spree :giggle: E keeps saying we are gonna get another hard drive just for my mp3s, maybe I'll get enough this time around to convince him of that again :giggle:

What program are you using for mp3's? Morpheus used to be great, but since the software change, it's tough to find anything just the least bit obscure.

¤ ¤ credit: Visitor | 04.24.02 at 08:25 PM | link--this ¤ ¤

I use Limewire and AudioGalaxy.

¤ ¤ credit: robyn | 04.24.02 at 08:50 PM | link--this ¤ ¤

I feel the same way about Morpheus lately - I ended up finding a majority of these mp3s on Audiogalaxy this afternoon - I think there are a few I'll have to search harder for, so I'll try limewire. So robyn, as always, is smart and knows her stuff :giggle:

Hey Kristine (and everyone else) -- I'd love to add to my stash. If you think of any others that fit in the square peg, please tell me! Thanks! :-)

grokster is also pretty good for downloads... I love that version of Hey Pretty :)

I use blubster. Verrry similar to the old Napster. www.blubster.com

Good list. Psyched to see several Tori Amost songs on there. Love that woman's music!

Thanks for the recs Munin and John!

Have you ever heard "Jealous" by Sinead O'Connor? It's a little slower, but she gets the point across nonetheless! Also, don't forget about Beth Hart, she f@*!in' rocks!

¤ ¤ credit: Susan | 04.25.02 at 02:31 AM | link--this ¤ ¤

Btw, if you have to get just one song off this list....you MUST get "Dangerous Type" by Letters to Cleo. It's off The Craft soundtrack and it kicks serious ass!

I think that's probably why Susan ended up with a Neve Campbell skin tonight...

Mikey dear, you need to spend less time looking at my breasts -- the post said, and I quote, "building up my 'chick rock' selection". Ok, you can look back down now. ;-p

Ok, so i randomly found your blog, but i must say that i about creamed my pants when i read the above list. Seriously...my boyfriend is actually getting jealous of you, because i cannot stop blabbing about your good musical tastes. Gwen once wore my leather arm cuff at a show (it was thrown up on stage at her) and while i didn't get it back, it still made my month. Ok, so i'm turning into SwinFan here. Just wanted to tell u that, and also mention that "My Forgotten Favorite" by Velocity Girl is a pretty good song, too.

Velocity Girl -- very nice choice! One of my husband's very favorite bands!

The songs on your list that I recognize are good ones. Allow me to suggest "Barracuda" (I see someone's already mentioned Heart) and "Cherry Bomb," by The Runaways.
