If a tree falls in the rain forest
Heads up to Amazon.com affiliates... They have just introducted an XML Platform! "By putting Amazon.com XML directly into your hands, you'll now have the flexibility to display dynamic product information in any way you choose. XML gives you the power to:

  • Choose which product attributes to display
  • Control how product attributes appear
  • Perform multiple product line searches
  • Build lists from multiple product categories…and much more!

  • Eventual features include price and availability information, different image sizes, authors and artists, customer ratings, and the ability to specify the number of products and select attributes you want to receive.
" They're even looking for help from developers to expand and build their XML platform, so check it out if you are so inclinded.

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

I really need to learn more about xml. I know how to customize the xml feed in MT so that it can be picked up by places to syndic8.com (theredkitchen is doing this) (check out this thread on the MT boards for more info on that)....

But I haven't learned yet how to actually take an XML page and interpret it on my site; which seems like would be really cool for stuff like the Amazon thing.

Man, I shoulda just posted this on my own site instead of filling up your comment box :)

    Hugs!!

Don't feel bad -- you are definitely one-up on me! I still have CSS to tackle and you're a scripty goddess. ;-) Every time I think "ok...I have time to play..." fate plays a psych card on me. I'm fascinated by the Amazon options regarding XML though. Definitely something on the "tackle soon" list!
