"The Vatican has come up with a simple solution to the Catholic Church's recent sex scandal: Eliminate gay priests. 'People with these inclinations just cannot be ordained,' says Vatican spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls, responding to the sex scandals sweeping the American Catholic Church in recent weeks......Turning the scandals into a 'gay' issue allows the church to suggest that it, too, is a victim in the scandal. Rather than being responsible for pedophile priests, the church can portray itself as victimized by gays who have sneaked into the priesthood." (Article from Salon.com)
Yeah, that's it! I'm so glad the Church finally figured that out for us. Because I think we all know that 'straight' folks would never, ever molest children -- now don't we? Oh, wait: "At least one well-know clinical psychologist who has treated victims and priests in more than 2,000 clergy sexual abuse cases even says he believes victims are much more likely to be girls and women." Ok this just sickens me! I was rasied Catholic & back in my ignorant days ("Sit Stand Kneel! Sit Stand Kneel! Be a good little girl! Knees together! 10 Commandments or HELL", etc, etc, etc) & before I became disillusioned with the Church, the best Priest I ever had was gay. He was not going around molesting kids just because he was gay (Do all straight people hit on everyone in sight? No! Then why the hell do people think that all gay people go around hitting on everyone they see of the same sex?) It has nothing to do with these guys being gay or straight. It has to do with them being sick fucks who hurt & abuse children.
