There's always Paris?
As expected, the Bloggies were a Wil Wheaton love-fest and the rest of us didn't stand much of a chance if up against him. Oh well, it was an honor just being nominated, right? However, there is absolutely no justice in this world that Dawn didn't totally sweep her category! Suddenly I wear a very evil grin that Christine's name/URL will forever be on the donor's list! Tee hee!

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

You are too kind. Really.

On a related note, am I the only one who doesn't find Wil's site to be unworthy?

Well I hate to say much about someone I was nominated with -- but I didn't think it was really fair that one site was up for so much (6 categories) -- and much less swept them all when they are a "real life" celebrity. I would have been thrilled (and honored) to lose to Mena, but losing to Wil just seems kind of hollow, like "well everyone else lost to him too". Maybe I should make "I was Crushered by Wesley in the Bloggies" t-shirts? *g*

I sat in on the announcement of the winners on IRC (I had to download Trillian first), and it was obvious early on that Wil Wheaton was going to run the table. A lot of the sites I voted for won, but a lot of them didn't have a chance up against WWDN. Unfortunately, that included ATPTB, lifeuncommon and dollarshort. But the win for Movable Type was great -- after Blogger won for best weblog directory (which doesn't even make any sense), I was a little worried.

I used to be a big fan of Wil Wheaton Dot Net. I thought it was great that this guy who I watched in "Stand By Me" and "Star Trek" was writing about his daily life just like other bloggers. But he was more or less going through a difficult period career-wise, and once things started to pick up he lost interest in the site and even threw some online tantrums, whining about servers and software, threatening to give the whole thing up.

The people who voted for his blog did it not because his site deserved to win but because he's TV's Wil Wheaton. That kinda sucks.

You should have won...you deserved to win...dang it you will win next year...we can get everyone to boycott will Wheaton !!!!!

Thanks for the recap Mike! If only we got an MTV Awards-style awards show soon-after (like the Oscars) so we could all show up half-drunk in skimpy clothing praising things like Chewbacca. Oh wait...that's my every-day...nevermind... ;-) I agree MT *should* have won and I'm glad they did. Didn't quite get the Blogger one on this end either though!

Some I voted for won. Some I voted for lost. And ... such is life. And no, it is a HUGE honor that you made FINALIST. Personally, I think that ROCKS, win or lose! At least you can say that "the only person that could beat me was a real life celebrity!" Either way, I read your site 20 times a day - isn't that what matters most?

Well that, and the "extra special" late-nights we share Christine! ;-)

Is this Wil Wheaton thing a supreme JOKE???!! I mean if you are going with washed up 80's stars, can we at least get someone notable as a kitsch joke like the Corey's?????????????????????????????????????????????

i like wil wheaton. but his site ain't *all* that.

i don't get it, either. then again, i just saw a guy lose his marbles over the fact that there were no blueberry bagels at the bagel place about an hour ago, so nothing really makes sense to me right now. heh.

lisa, Wil's page isn't bad. Actually he's very funny! And very liberal -- making for some most amusing rants. He was in the movie "Stand By Me", and played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek (which I never watched). His site is actually worth a drop-by. Don't want to give the impression that it isn't!

Congrats on being nominated, Robyn!!! You should have won!!!! :)

One of the main reasons Todd and I broke up the first time (no kidding) is b/c I wouldn't let him watch Star Trek in my apartment. ;-)
