Sheep go to heaven
I dug up two of my favorite cake recipes for Stacy today, and thought I'd share here and at "The Red Kitchen". Both are absolutely divine.

The first is for Banana Split Cake. I alter the recipe slightly by filling two 9" round pans, making a layer cake, and icing the area in between the two layers with chilled hot fudge sauce. Then I ice the whole thing, and add the suggested toppings.

The second is not for the weak of heart -- and it's recommended for true chocolate fanatics only. It's called Chocolate Celebration Cake with Chocolate Ganache Icing. It's very similar to the "Great Wall of Chocolate" at P.F. Chang's. I only use Ghirardelli chocolates when baking it, and keep a CPR team on standby just in case.

Just eat it
An award for "strange comment of the day", take 37...

"...Yesterday I forced myself to eat a carrot, I could eat only half of it, but I felt like throwing up 2 times. I have problems with textures and with taste. I am seeking help because its a very serious problem for my health and also my cooking!...Do you know of any websites for people who are extremely picky and almost 'ill' about this subject?..."
Alrighty then... And now, your moment of zen.

Smothered and covered
Angel just made me squeal like a little girl. She pointed out the following from Sonic's site:

To celebrate our 50th year, we're bringing back some all-time favorites, like our one-of-a-kind Pickle-O's™! You'll love these sliced dill pickles made crispy and perfect for dipping. Available for a limited time only at participating locations.
Laugh at us all you want -- those who have eaten Pickle-O's KNOW what I'm talkin' 'bout. And to date, the only place to still get them has been Classic 50s Drive-In in Norman, Oklahoma. I haven't had them in over two years. Screw Todd's ticker... If our Sonic is in on this promotion, we're eating there every night for a week. It's a moral imperative.

P.S. If you think the concept of fried pickles is bad, I should also add that we eat them covered with cheese. Oh yeah, baby!

You might be a winner...
Heads-up -- cooking.com is doing a $1000 shopping spree give-away. They carry brands like KitchenAid, Le Creuset, Cuisinart, and Calphalon. I am so there! (Or maybe not...)
