Take this column and shove it
If only we could all fire her from our lives so eloquently... (Here's the column that started this all, from FARK.com. And here are some of her past antics. Also seen today at Stacy's.)

Hey boy take a look at me...let me dirty up your mind...

I don't know much about her, but I've heard her name pop up in a negative light more than once. I really do hate people who force their opinions on you in the way she does. "I'm right, you're wrong". Sucked in to her getting fired. I'm sure it was a blow to her gigantic ego.

Sorry Jessica, but it most likely was not...that was just one of the thousands of newspapers that syndicate her columns. I guess we'll just have to wait for the cirrhosis of the liver to set in. :D

One less paper that carries her is a good thing. Whenever she was on Politically Incorrect I would cringe. That woman is a hatemonger.

I first saw her on PI too, and not only is she a hatemonger, she's a complete bitch about it. Totally arrogant. The ultimate personification of white privelege in action. I loved that letter, and can only hope for more. Yay Mr Unger!

I maintain that Annzilla has gotten dull and one-note. I picked up her book at Barnes and Noble recently and leafed through it, curious about what all the fuss was about. Blah Liberals have cooties, blah evil liberals ran over my dog, blah liberals worship satan, blah liberals cut me off in traffic* -- I put it down, bored. Lord knows that I'm sick of many of the policies and attitudes foisted upon society by those on the left side of the political spectrum; but shrill ranting isn't the way to fix anything; it's good for a snicker or two at "liberal's" expense, I guess, but she went to a lot of trouble (oodles of footnotes! why?) just to jerk chains.

*Disclaimer: no, I am not quoting her verbatim, AFAIK.

Whoops, I had wanted to add I wasn't too thrilled with the Unger column, though. Not that they fired her; they have every right to fire/dump whoever they want. But at the tone throughout, which was of that scolding, purse-mouthed, shocked maiden aunt variety that sets my teeth on edge and will give A.C. column fodder for weeks. I prefer the way National Review canned her. They were pretty blunt and to the point: "Annie, babe, we might be rabid right-wingers but we're not stupid. Don't let the door hit you on the heinie on the way out." Okay, Jonah Goldberg was nicer than that, still, he didn't screw around with telling her what a bad person she was and to go sit in the corner, yuck. The only way to get at people of her ilk is to use a (metaphorical) blunt instrument.

Okay, I will now put the soapbox away.
